Stop villager from moving?

So Ruby came up to me and told me about her plans to move
I was pressing B and accidentally said "Bye."
Is there any way to stop them from moving?
I sent them a letter with a present and kept talking to them, but I'm not sure if that'll work...

You can talk to them again at any point before the move-out date and convince them to stay ^_^

yeah I've done that many times and had instant regret why my speed button of choice was b and not a. anyways, while they're still planning on moving they can still talk to you about moving again and you can tell them you ain't moving.

Thank you two! I would say that I'll be more careful from now on, but the B button makes my life so much easier...

yeah there's no guarantee, but just keep talking to them and maybe they'll tel lyou they were thinking of changing their mind.

also, maybe other player-characters can talk to her as well and get the chance to tell her not to move (not sure on that but worth a try)
