Stop a villager from moving in?

I've been waiting to fill a plot for a day or two now, trying to get certain villagers from here or islands, and I found today it's been "sold" to Octavian... Who I never met. Is there a way to stop this? I had set aside my last 3 plots for certain other villagers... Feels like I was screwed over honestly lol

You cannot stop it unfortunately. Octavian is a cranky Octopus villager and I personally think he's great. If you decide that you don't like him, move him out naturally later on and try selling him or trading him on here The octopi are somewhat rare and pretty popular. There are only 3 of them in the game right now since Inkwell isn't available right now.

Yeah, he may be great, I was just panicking cuz I bought flurry thinking I had a place for her I can TT if necessary but hopefully she can be held til tomorrow. But hey, let's see how Octavian is lol

For future, keep resetting your day back to 6AM at night so you stay on the same day forever and ever until you fill your plots. That's the only way to prevent move-ins from Nook selling it or from other people's void dumps.
