Well, I'm not sure how else to phrase this but, do you think order matters in a fusion.

Like, to say for example, if Amethyst and Pearl were to form Opal and Opal fused with Garnet, do you think that they would just become Alexandrite like in Fusion Cuisine, or would something else happen?

My sister thinks that order doesn't matter and fusing the same gems will always result in the same fusion.

I personally believe that while the fusions start off as just so and so "mashed together", they seem to grow their own individuality separate from their gems. They're not just the sum of their parts, they're their own gems. Which is why I believe that if Opal were to fuse with Garnet, the resulting fusion would be, in some way, different from Alexandrite.

What do you think?

No. I don't think it would change. I feel like opal would have to be formed for garnet to fuse with them- or the latter.

I'm pretty sure order doesn't matter; the same gems will always form the same fusion if that X what you're talking about. Personality-wise...I'm not completely sure.

I don't think the sequence matters, but it'd be great if it did. There'd be even more fusion possibilites to look forward to. :)

I always thought that how successful a fusion is, is based on how compatible the gems fusing are
For example Malachite was made by force and not made from love or whatever, making her huge af
but Garnet is a lot smaller because Ruby and Sapphire are very compatible

so

I guess it depends on the relationship between the fusions? Like say Opal and Garnet really like each other, but Sardonyx and Amethyst don't like each other
I think making Opal first, then fusing with garnet would end up with a more stable fusion

or am i insane lol it prob doesnt matter

I don't think order matters i think it all depends on the partners relationship. Take Garnet for example when ruby and sapphire first fused (idk if you've seen the episode so spoilers) Garnet was very mixed in colors this it was their first time fusing i think as gems become closer to each other everytime they fuse the will become more stable and less monsterous each time resulting in a perfect fusion such as garnet now (well she is almost perfect) So no i don't think order matters i think it depends on the relationship of the fusion partners

at least thats my understanding of fusion

It's been confirmed by the creators that order doesn't matter. If Garnet and Amethyst fused to Sugilite and pearl fuses with sugilite, regardless the fusion will become Alexandrite.

They also mentioned that if garnet was to ever unfuse to ruby and sapphire and one of them decides to fuse with pearl, they will still form sardonyx but her design will be slightly different.

It was also mentioned that they make fusion base off what looks cooler, not really on how perfect they were.

Where did they mention that? That doesn't make sense if ruby or sapphire fused with pearl the would make sardonyx it make and entirely different gem

It was confirmed by Matt Burnett on his Twitter:

But his url isn't working?

They will form the same gem but the appearance depends on them.

Oh he's taking a break but I'll try to find the tweet
