Starter/Recovery Packs

i was thinking about this for a while:
say you reset/corrupted/got a new game. obviously you have nothing except your animal instinct and the shirt on your back, so you're going to need some things to get started. you'll get things within a week or so but wait! you want to get started now!! sooo, these 'packs' can be dropped off in new towns to help players get started if they have no other way.

Spoiler: pack list

10 to 100k bells
3 of each: pear, apple, orange, peach, cherry
1 full set of tools: shovel, axe, watering can, net, fishing rod, slingshot
1 full set of furniture: alpine, green, minimalist, blue, or cabin (i chose these because they're simple and not very expensive)
1 potted plant
1 stereo
1 full set of bush starts: holly, white azalea, pink azalea, pink hydrangea, blue hydrangea, red hibiscus, yellow hibiscus, sweet-olive
1 deciduous tree
1 cedar tree
1 bamboo shoot
1 random K.K. Slider song
2 blue roses
1 haircut

what other things do you think could be in these 'packs'?

I think the items given should depend on the situation. Like a long-time player having their game corrupted by accident should obviously be given more than someone who just got a new game

I honestly disagree.

Its a shame their town got corrupted, but I don't think they should deserve any extra privilege either. Especially when it just turns into a one-entry giveaway of sorts, which seems to happen most of the time.

Maybe a few more hybrids at most, but thats it.



Though adding to this, maybe something like 1-2 random reorderable dlc items?

I think this is a great idea.I would have loved to get those items when I first started.Especially the blue roses.I spent 4 months trying to make one and finally gave up and bought a pair.I don't think that people with corrupted games should get more than new players either.Getting a full furniture set is a nice idea too.It can take a long time to get a full set sometimes.

Nice idea. o: The furniture set is a really nice touch, and 100k sounds more useful than 10k. Might want to include a music player with the KK Slider song. Maybe add Persimmon to the list? And perhaps a couple of the other harder to get hybrids. I think the two tree saplings could be taken off the list, since new towns start with a looooot of trees in random places. The first thing I usually do in a new town is deforest it a bit.

maybe something like 5 axes instead then?

considering the silver axe is probably the hardest silver tool to get and all, unless you're just super lucky with island item selection


also perhaps instead of 2 blue roses 2 hybrids of choice sans gold roses?

i was just theorizing about this but if i could, i would. i can't since i don't have internet at home and my school blocks my 3DS.

3 fruits of all fruits, including island fruits (mangoes, persimmons, lemons, lychee, durians, plus coconut and banana)

i only said 2 blue roses because people have difficulty breeding them by themselves and they sell for more than regular roses. once you have two, it's much easier to breed them and get more. carnations are a possibility

this is such a cute idea! especially as these kind of scenario's crop up quite often i defs wouldn't put myself up for the organizing the whole thing but i wouldn't mind setting up a few packs!

I have an idea for this. I REALLY like the idea behind it. Here is my thought, and I will be more than happy to help start up this project once I am done replotting my villagers (prob be another month.) I think there should be 3-5 people participating in the packs. I think there should be a stipulation of PAY IT FWD when getting a pack. As in pick one of the following when you pick a pack:
1. after a month, bring an identical pack back to the host (so they don't use up ALL their money doing these.)
2. if you get a good start out villager that you do not want, give them away for free to someone that would like them.
3. help someone do gardening for free in their town


Also I would just do 6 of the bush starts from the list, not the hibiscus, as those are VERY obtainable when going to the island. And I would offer all the fruit even the coconut and banana. I'll let you guys know if a few of my friends and I can start this up.

I think this is a nice idea . I'd definitely contribute to something like this if someone did set it up, I have all fruits and a full catalogue. Could probably spare some bells as well.

Honestly if my game was corrupted and I was forced to restart all want is all the fruits (not just fruits that are native to towns) and 2 blue roses. Everything else I could get back the same way I obtained it in the first place.

Having handouts ruins the fun of the game for me.

Such a great idea! I tend to see a lot of people that say they got corrupted, or someone reset the game, it broke, etc threads. It's always nice to know that people donate to these unfortunate people & help them start back up again.

I would be more than willing to help donate if you guys ever make this an official thing! ​

I reset a lot because I like doing that. I'm on my 8th town. I have two 3DS XL's, so I can give myself a starter pack each time. It takes me a couple of trips to move all this stuff using my storage, but on one of the trips I can get a haircut at the old town.

I like including these:

Fruit: At least 100 Apples (my favorite), plus 9 each of oranges, pears, cherries, and peaches in case apples are not foreign fruit in the new town.

Furniture: The entire rococo set (my favorite), including wallpaper and flooring; plus at least a half dozen each of lamps, stereos, and cabinets/dressers/whatever that can hold my stuff. A couple of extra wallpapers and flooring that I like. A couple of songs for the stereos. Anything else that I particularly like, like the pink phone.

Clothing: at least one outfit that I like; plus hero's clothes etc which are the only things I care about that can be got from eating fortune cookies. Black or brown shoes. Sailor's hat from the island.

Tools: 4 sets of silver shovels, fishing poles, and nets, and 15-20 regular axes.

Money: At least 200,000 bells; plus any fossils that happen to be available that day.

Flowers: As many hybrids as I happen to have (usually not as many as I might wish). Roses too, even regular ones. A couple of dozen bush starts.

Wish I could take coelacanths with me! But I can't, oh well.
