I made two, the other has the SSSSSSSSSSSSS behind the first creeper, but in front of the back ones.

It's supposed to be focus. The closer creeper would look clearer than the ones farther back.

The focus is awkward, my eyes keep wandering off to the blurry side.

Exactly. The majority of blurry ruins the focal point somehow.

The right side of an image tends to be 'stronger' than the left side, so you should have put the focused image on the right.

But still, there isn't much going for the sig.

imo the middle one would be the focus. cuz the one in front is too close to the eye so it should be out of focus
