So, I was in Harvey's Island and I was going home but I realized that Willbur dialogue was a little longer than normal, so I read it. I could barely understand it between so many slangs but:

It is an update, it was placed in game ahead of time, and considering that summer is coming fast, I’ll bet it will add quite a few things (wedding season is just part of it)

It might be related to the upcoming Wedding event in June... in the direct they mentioned that you could get special items for like helping Reese and Cyrus with their photos, and I was wondering how you'd be able to bring back stuff from Harv's island, since atm I don't think that's possible?

It is an update, it was placed in game ahead of time, and considering that summer is coming fast, I’ll bet it will add quite a few things (wedding season is just part of it)

Really? I didn't test at a mystery island, I thought it worked there too. So it probably is an oversight from the devs. It was pretty functional (well they still havent gave back my stuff I think it's only tomorrow) so yeah seems like it's pretty much a new feature

I checked again, the ACNH Life app lists all three versions, so they're separate variations like the store stuff, no customization. Cute is white/blue/pink, Chic is white/dark wood/gold, and Garden is natural wood/green.

At the moment it only works on Harvey's island. (Probably to prevent TTers from gaining the advantage early?)

Maybe when June actually starts where everyone gets to the event, Wilbur might actually do this thing on regular mystery islands. Mayhaps this will be the response to gaining bells easily now? Especially those that are on Money Rock Island #2/Scorpion Island.

I checked nookplaza and it lists only one item with 3 variations for each and lists them as customizable, though... we may have to wait until June to know for sure.
