I'm really close to 40 too, I think I'm only like 100 points away.
I hit 40 earlier and got the Octoshot. I love the sound it makes and it made TC really fun.

Thanks!Congrats on getting S rank! Sounds great that you went from A+ to S so quickly!
That's awesome you haven't lost your rank; shows you are playing at a high enough level to keep it. Also, ranked is just taking a little time to make sure that, when you leave A-, your shoulders are too massive for your fellow A ranks to contain any longer.I've been stuck on A- forever! I keep getting A-93 or something and then I keep losing all matches until I'm down to A-8 again. It's a miracle that I haven't lost my rank yet. Honestly, most of the time, I'm the best or second best on my team so it's not my fault that I haven't made it to A yet....
Nice. I remember being so excited when I reached it, too; finally broke the B ranks curse.I made it to A- last night! <3
I'm gonna let it sit for at least a week lmao

That last example reminds me how, last night, on my way to S, I was in a team with two S+ and one A+ versus two A+ and two A. Even though I had both S+ players on my team, I still got +10. I assume it was because I somehow got first place on the team? *shrugs*I'm still stuck at A. I work on it for hours but whenever I get to the 90s misfortune strikes and I tumble back down to the 50s. Disconnected twice yesterday, and it seems like whenever there's a lower rank on the winning team (and I'm talking just one) I get slapped with -10. Funny thing is, when I was against a full S team yesterday (we were all As) and lost, we still got -10. Logic level: Splatoon.
That can certainly be irritating, though at the same time I would find it most encouraging that, rather than sinking, you not only stayed at that rank but kept getting close to passing it; showed you definitely earned your rank and were soon on your way up. And even if you lose it, being able to return in much less time than on the first try is another encouragement to me (that is what happened the first time I got A: after sinking back to A-, I got back to A in about 20 minutes).Thank you! I was certainly cursed in B+. I was constantly stuck between B+ 60-80. If I made it past that, I lost the next match and if I had a losing streak, I'd magically start a winning streak and make it back to 60-80. and then I'd lose if I made it past 80 again. This lasted for probably a week ;_;
Nice! And aren't you using the brush? Or maybe I'm thinking of another member here.I haven't played ranked in some time, but I finally made it to A-! Also hit level 39. The people who hit level 50 a while ago are so dedicated.
I wonder if you've heard of the player Yugo_1 (his user name on Twitch) of the Japanese clan Memories. He is S+, uses only stick controls, and is considered a beast with the .52 Gal. He dodges Krakens and places Splash Walls better than anyone I've seen.Definitely someone else. I just can't let go of my .52 Gal Deco, haha.

Also in splatfest. I happen to be in team dog as well.
Gonna open private lobby in a bit if anyone wants to party with me. XD
