I've not been on ranked since I hit B- so I don't really know what it's like at that rank :/ I just went and did all the Amiibo stuff. I hope I at least see A-.

If I'm at base though, I look at my map and if I see enemy ink moving on the map by the person I'm going to jump to, I normally try not to jump there unless they're not that close. There's a high chance that the enemy will keep shooting at your spawn area until you die & can't do anything. (and your teammate is either dead or ran away)

But if they seem far enough, I go in and hopefully help my team-

Luckily I have a skill on my jacket that shows me enemy positions on my map when I'm at the spawn point (I think it's called 'recon'). I can just wait and see if the guy I want to spawn to kills the enemy or not before I jump to them :)

The thing that gets to me is that half the people leave after one game and it takes ages (probably 3-4 minutes) to start a new game, which means ranking up is even harder now, and one lose can really screw me up and add a lot more time until I can start a new game and try to get more points.

Maybe it's the people who lost leaving because they're butthurt xD


I wonder if they're trying a different weapon? I dunno though, in ranked I would pretty much only go in with the weapon I'm most comfortable with, it's not exactly the type of match where I would experiment and try new things.
 
If there's no gun that doesn't make ranked feel better, then I don't think I'll bother with it much. (only used a short ranged gun for it). I've had too many games where the enemy zones you out of the area.

The only splatoon commercial i think is decent, would be Japans..

Wish I could play right now but I'm a bit busy ;u;

These ranked stages are madness. 20 splats and got splatted 15 times last match I was in. Plus everything changes so fast. Was losing the first half of the match then won by knockout in the last minute.

And still no progress towards my rank lol go figure.
 
New best score of 1783 in a game with Justin and Jingle earlier, coo coo.

Wonder when Nintendo will increase the max level from 20, surely there's more than just that seeing as it can be reached in mere days. Maybe it will come around with new DLC and it will take levels past 20 to get the DLC in shops?

Can confirm this. I was amazed. You scored around 1500 in every match I believe, and barring once was always on the winning team, (and I'd like to think that was my doing, but pree sure my team just got lucky in the closing 30 seconds. :P)
I remember jealously thinking you can probably get further than a B- in ranked. xD

I thought/hoped there would be +5 levels with every new weapon release. And the weapon would have 2 versions atleast and then maybe a couple standard weapons with different subs would come with them. Guess thats not what Nintendo was going for though. S:
 
I definitely hope for new weapon DLC in the future. Gimme something just like the Tentakek Splattershot but with Inkstrike instead ugh. I dominate offensive ranked battles with that thing but the Inkzooka and its knockback is SUCH A PAIN.

Also how many amiibo weapons are there? Got splatted by a Forge Splattershot Pro earlier... is that a thing?!

I don't really like the fact that ranked matches are based on how well your team does as a whole because if you do good and your team does bad, you suffer the same consequences regardless. It would be nice if they counted how many times a player captured the territory or went by their defensive kill count to judge how many more points they suffer or gain.

I just got the good strats for Arowana and Underpass, invade that bass(e) and cause 1-2 people to chase me around while team takes mid or joins me. Only played 7 ranked games so far and I consider turf wars to be much funner.
 
I was in aTurf War when all of my teammates and 3 opponents got lagged out, so it was a 1 on 1 Turf War. What did we do?

Rapidly press ZL and X to be the blue and pink jumping squid kids of course! XD

I was really excited for ranked battles/splat zones as many of you know..and yeah I have to agree the mode really isn't that great. I like it, but Turf Wars wins I think. Give me ranked Turf Wars!

splatzones is equally as fun imo, it's just way more stressful
