No worries! Lurking means that if a villager you're looking for moves into my town, I tell you an hour before I tell the thread, giving you a chance to reserve that villager before anyone else can. Reserving means that that villager is yours - once that villager is in boxes, you have 24 hours to come get them before I give everyone else a chance to get them. Hope I could clear things up!

You can only reserve villagers that are currently in my town. But multiple people can lurk for a villager! And whoever reserves a villager first gets them, regardless of whether or not they've been lurking for them. Lurking is for before a villager has moved in, and reserving is for after.
