Spiny lobster

I just can't catch this thing. Most places say it comes out in September but animal crossing wiki says September 16th.
Has anyone successfully caught this yet?

Most new bugs for the month show up after the 15th or so

Really? Because crickets and stuff are here now. Why does most places not specify the 16th? I wasted an hour last night diving for this thing.

Dunno, can't answer for most places that put up their own guides and stuff :/ all I know is I've been reading sosostris ACNL blog since her Japanese ACNL blogging days and she's always seen new creatures around the 15th or so. she usually puts up a monthly bug / fish guide on her blog.

Are you diving after 9pm? It looks like that's when you can find it.

It spawns after the 15th, 16th sadly. I thought the same thing too when I was missing the Spiny Lobster.

It's like that for some bugs and fish. They spawn on different dates between the months.

It spawns at night from 9pm to 4am, and has very large shade. This should give you a clue.

I love to dive late at night ... i find lots of spiny lobsters after midnight! They are very distinctve the the way they move ... I must say that I didnt notice whether it was after the ffteenth of the month though ... but I may be confusing my Island diving with town diving.

Thank goodness I saw this thread. I've been trying to catch it for a while, I would have kept looking.
