In the start of the game, Isabelle taught us that holding the B or L/R button while you?re talking to the villagers or NPCs will speed them up. I?ve always used it.

Do you guys speed up conversations, too? Y?all probably do, but just wondering. :p

Absolutely!

I also turn the sound down to drown out their mundane babbling.

Same! I wish I could turn just the babbling off. I love the music in the game but I never get to hear it cause my cranky villagers creep out my boyfriend :P

I absolutely hurry them up. Otherwise... Yeah that would take the patience of a saint...

In City Folk you could tell Rover to have everyone speak in bebese or be completely silent. I have no idea why they took it out.

Oh my gosh this would be amazing! The bebese is cute at first but they talk so much... Would definitely prefer to have this option...

I don't do it too often, I feel like it's rude somehow lol
but honestly if I'm talking to a non-villager I'm more likely to do it because their dialogue is always the same

Am I the only one who didn't know this? XD I actually don't engage with my villagers unless to find out who is leaving, but even that consists of me going straight to my villager neighborhood when I get on and see who pings me. And also I talk to them once a day so I don't ignore them for like a week or so. So basically my villagers are there just to look cute lol. My 2nd town consists of majority of cranky personalities so it's all the same dialogue, so what is the point of talking to them? Besides, I don't want them giving me items either when I continue their dialogue. So yeah not much to skip when I don't talk to them.

I use it, even if I didn't want to, like if I saw a funny piece of dialogue only for it to disappear into code... SO many times I missed the opportunity to take a picture of when a bear gets scared when they hear a rumor of a villager wrestling a bear.

When you play this game for so many years now and also restart so often, than you know the dialogue
almost by heart. That's why I speed up the conversations everytime. I know what they have to say, no
need for me to read it over and over again.

I play my game in Spanish because it makes me feel better to be learning/practicing vocab while I'm wasting all my time playing new leaf hahah xD but in reality it gets very tiring and can take the fun out f the video game if I get too serious about studying lol. So a lot of the time I skip forward too. For me, I just have to push A and the words fill the screen faster so I can move on. I've never tried pushing B or any other methods, though.

I don't have the patience to sit and wait, so no. Of course, it was different when I first got the game but after resetting many of times I know what to expect now. I'll only properly read a conversation if it's towards my favourite villager.

I speed up the conversations but not because I'd be bored with reading them, but just because pushing B during the dialogue a few times kind of compensates for pushing A so much. Even though I'm trying not to care about it, the A button has become flatter than the rest of the buttons and it bothers me way too much.

I have for years and I do it in all my other animal crossing games too. I've seen all of the dialog so its nothing new for me
