Speed up time

is there a way to speed up time?
i usually play when i get in from work and sometimes late at night, due to AC being done in real time most of the shops are closed grrrr
i know i can change the clock on the 3DS but i dont want to have to do this all of the time ....
anyone got any suggestions?

You could always just put your clock back a few hours so your town is a few hours behind the real world, that way you won't need to change it everyday and the shops will be open when you are ready to play.

EDIT: You can also change the town ordinance so that the shops stay open later.

If you want to do things 'by the book' then I'd enact the town ordinance for the shops to open later - I think it's the 'Night Owl' ordinance?
