Speculation for year two?!?!

I saw

I believe we will continue to get holiday updates every year to tweak or change the holiday event/rewards. As well as continued QOL updates; I'm sure they will include updates to custom design slots, new furniture items, house exteriors, dialogue changes, etc.

I'm also hoping in year 3 they re introduce the small events that occurred in games like wild world that were not necessarily large holidays, but small celebrations like acorn day or a twist on the flea market. New NPCs also sounds possible as so far we really only had the same ones we have seen before. I also still firmly believe at some point we will be able to travel to new islands similar to Harvey's in which it's not player made and features different npcs/villagers.

I dont see them abandoning the game after 1 year at all, we are barely scraping the surface of the possible content as is. and I wouldn't be surprised if they have either a gigantic update at the end of year 3 or continue making updates.

That's what I was thinking about the holidays. Maybe each year they'll do something a little different to keep them fun. Like new minigames or something. Considering the backlash on bunny day, I can't imagine it'll be the same next year haha (I hope at least). Little celebrations would be nice as well!

I hope they make the Fishing Tourney and Bug Off prizes different from this year and I hope they expand on the Summer Shell series like a shell garland similar to what's in Nooks and I would give my right arm to be able to buy and customize curtains because I feel like the windows are neglected same with the ceiling and having the option for more above head lighting

Like at least give us a full room, wall, floor and rug, I would love it if we were given an exclusive floor from CJ and Flick and taking a page out of Sahara's book I wish they would give us a variety of sizes with the rugs, and to expand on my idea for the Summer Shell Series I also wish there was more furniture like a bench or a useable wall shelf that doesn't already have something on it

Yeah I’d expect most of the major updates to New Horizons that they have planned will be done within the first year of release (so by March 20th next year).

After that I’d expect they’d mostly just focus more on adding in new items/villagers and the Holiday events. Maybe focus more on doing more events like wedding/museum or May Day maze thing with Rover.

ACNH is way bigger than any other Animal Crossing game ever was (unless I am mistaken), so I think they're definitely gonna step it up and give us much more content. Idk if it will be every month, though that would be nice

I assume once all of the major holidays are added to the game, they’re going to start adding in all of the minor ones such as ground hog day, April fools, labor day, mother‘s/father’s day, and so on. I expect there to be more updates than just that, but that’s just one thing I think will happen.

They might enhance the holidays a bit to fix a few things, but I wouldn't expect anything new after the year except for the occasional QoL update.

Maybe we'll get an expansion like "Welcome Amiibo" at some point.

Animal Crossing was first released in April 2001. Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the game. Would it be unreasonable to believe some new and amazing updates will be released? On the never-before-done scale?

But, I'm the rain-on-my-own-parade type who believes high expectations will lead to great disappointment, so I'd rather not speculate.

Ha! That is what i would love to know too! I wanna know if i should look forward to getting new and never done before content or not. It is a little underwhelming if all the new and exclusive nh features are basically just the ones we had from the start, although there is no denying they are great and big additions. I suppose improving old features from previous games counts too.

Lots and lots of NPCs - off the top of my head Katrina, Gracie, Booker and Cooper, Katie and her Mom, Tortimer, Capp'n...

And associated features.

Lots of little holidays, and of course, associated furniture. I miss the weird stuff. Red Snapper Couch. Rose Chair. Beehive Dresser. Etc.
