Space between street light pwps?

So I need help with a pwp. I have a one wide path in front of my town hall and I want to put street lamps on either side of the path with two spaces between each light. Like this

P= path
L= light

My question is: is one space between each street light enpugh? If not, how many spaces do I need between each light? Thank you

I think you need two spaces between them but I'm not positive, I've never tried to put them closer. You could always try it and if it doesn't work alternate placement like this:

I think you just treat them as you would a tree. One space on each side. Your layout should probably be fine, but good luck getting Isabelle to cooperate lol

It's 2 spaces. I tried to put a light by the bench and Isabelle wouldn't allow it to be that close.

I think you can't do what you're saying, since every streetlight has to have a buffering zone of one tile around it and it cannot overlap with the buffering zones of other PWP's. Either way, try and see if it's possible or if Isabelle tells you that you can't do it.
