Does anyone on these boards enjoy Soul Calibur?

The second game is one of my favorites, and it took a bit for 6 to grow on me but I've been spending a lot of time with it recently. I've been trying to teach my roommate how to play fighting games, and Soul Calibur seems to click with him easier than the others. After taking the time to get into the game's systems more, I definitely think this is the most fun Soul Calibur in a long time, even if the menus are janky and there's next to no single player content.

If this thread sparks your interest, the game is currently on sale on the PlayStation store. There's a bit of DLC, including 2 unreleased characters, one of which was revealed yesterday, but if you don't want to play as those characters you can simply opt not to buy them.

I poured a ton of hours into Soul Calibur 4 and 5. I own Soul Calibur 6 on the Xbox One, but for some reason haven't gotten much into it yet. I would really like to start playing it more. My favorite features are definitely making weird characters in the creator menu. I'm a little iffy about shelling out a lot of money for the DLC though.

The DLC is quite pricy, especially considering the only DLC characters I actually play as are Cassandra (my main), Tira, and Hilde. I'll probably learn how to play Setsuka when she releases. You can also buy characters individually for $7, so if you're only interested in one of them that's an option, and Tira is a little cheaper I think because she was day 1 DLC (*groans*). Overall I think this system is much better that Soul Calibur 5, and definitely better than 4. They did a better job with the super meter and supers in general (for the most part).

The very first Soul Caliber I have ever played was for GameCube (SC4 I think?) I saw Link as a special guest character and my friend bought it for me back in 4th grade so kindly. Little did I know how much I ended up enjoying the game for it's fighting style and characters! (Sophitia and Maxi were my two favs)

That was the GameCube version of Soul Calibur 2. Link was a really cool guest character but was unfortunately a little broken.
