Other than the usual fishing, catching bugs and digging up fossils, what is the best way to make bells? I need to finish off paying for the dream building and now I?ve been asked to help fund the museum. Is all so expensive :(

I definitely recommend catching expensive bugs and fish on the island at night (you can easily make 500k+ easy if you start early enough)! :D Another good way of making bells is selling stuff or helping people on here (you also can exchange your TBT bells for in-game bells as well [200k IGB per 1 TBT is the current exchange rate]). :) Hope this helps!

Thank you that’s really helpful xxx

Aside from what MasterM64 said, which is what I've always done to make bells, other people also like to utilize the Stalk Market. Basically, you buy turnips from Joan on Sunday mornings and wait until Reese at Re-Tail offers a good price for them so you can sell them at a large profit. I can't really give you solid advice on how to do it past the basic concept since I've never tried it out, but someone else probably can.

Just know that if you try this method, you only have one week to sell the turnips because they will rot. Also, if you decide to go this route and Reese simply won't offer a good return on investment, you can use the Train Station section of the forums here to visit someone else's town that has a better price.

Best wishes for the continued development of your town. :)

Thank you. I tried the turnip thing the other week and didnt get a good return on the turnips. I will keep my eye on the forums this time and look for a better deal :D

I always go to the island after 6pm and catch the expensive fish and bugs like MasterM64 suggested. Even if I only have 30 mins or so, I can still fill up my basket with enough stuff to make a solid 200k-300k. If I have more time, I'm more selective and therefore can make even more money.

Another way to make money that hasn't been mentioned is by trading in your Meow coupons for bells. You can do this at the ABD in the post office and each coupon is worth 3,000 bells. If you have any amiibo cards or figures, you can scan one a day to get 5 Meow coupons. Combine that with completing the daily and weekly initiatives, and you can build up coupons pretty fast.

Adding on to catching and selling rare bugs and fish, when I was grinding towards 100m, Bell Boom ordinance was a decent help. It doesn't effect turnip prices, but anything you sell will give you a bit more profit. Things you buy will be more expensive too, but I wouldn't consider this as much, since you'll likely be doing a lot more selling than buying.

Sell your perfect fruit in a town that didn't get your native fruit.
Check your retail board to see what items are premium. Sometimes perfect fruit can be premium. Selling one piece of perfect fruit in another players town that didn't get your native fruit will give you 6K.

Open your gates for visitors when you have a high turnip price or premium fruit days. I give a tip when I leave as a thank you.

Make sure you check the money rock and the ore rock every day! They give you a decent amount of Bells, especially if you're a beginner.
