So another videogame character is getting it's own live-action movie in 2019. After Detective
Pikachu, Sonic the Hedgehog is the next one who will be put into the real world. The movie is
supposed to be coming out in November 8th 2019. A first look in form of a poster is now revealed:

Honestly, I'm not sure what I should think of this. People on the internet making already fun
of this. Sonic looks like a "humanoid dude wearing a large Sonic hat and shoes" on this poster
(quote from AlphaOmegaSin on Twitter). To be honest, he looks kinda weird here, maybe I will
get a better opinion of this when there will be a first trailer. For now, I will be sceptical about it.

Why...

Why?

WHY???!!!

That basically sums up my reaction. I honestly don't particularly care about this movie, but I am amazed that producers still seem to think live-action cartoon movies are a good idea. They simply keep doing the same thing and expect different results. At this point, there are probably enough bad live-action movies that I could fill an entire garbage can with them, which is where they rightfully belong. Of course, it could be good. I don't want a bad movie, but my expectations are extremely low. Especially with something like Sonic, which doesn't have the best record as of late...

Of course I haven't really looked into this so I don't know whether it's a hoax or not. If it's real, I won't be surprised. Confused, but not surprised.

Tbh with Jim Carrey playing eggman I’m... cautiously optimistic.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t expect it to be good- I just hope it’s so bad that it’s fun!

Live-action movies are trash, in my opinion. I do not plan on seeing this, Detective Pikachu, or any other live-action movies that happen to be released in the future.

Haha this summed it up for me the best. Honestly I can't imagine why this is a thing. Ryan Reynolds as pikachu? Some weird Sonic movie? Why can't we be happy with the traditional animation and stop making these weirdly high budge block busters that try to prey off of nostalgia? I just don't like that they are usually second rate and just used to get people to the box office based on big stars being in them but having trash plots and actual relevance to any of the fandom/game.

I...I just...why is this a thing??? Who wakes up one day and thinks, "You know what this world needs? A live action Sonic movie with Jim Carrey as Dr. Eggman"

I found the movie's theme song

Yeah, I don’t plan on seeing Detective Pikachu and don’t plan on seeing this either. Can they please just leave these things alone...?

I died when I read "from the creators of The Fast and the Furious."

Tbh though detective pikachu looks not half bad gotta say

This timeline continues to get weirder. I didn't realize Sonic was still popular enough to warrant a movie. Then again, even if he is I'm not sure a live-action movie is a sound idea anyways.

Oof, he looks so weird in the poster. Also, didn;t they say he'll be a "juvenile delinquent." This doesn't look good guys.

In a world where Woody Woodpecker got a live-action movie, Sonic honestly isn't that far-fetched...

mark my words; there will be a kirby live action movie within the next 10 years. he'll look like this

meta knight will die and dedede will be voiced by jerry seinfeld or another "goofy" voice actor. there'll be a part where he eats the statue of liberty and there's a sad scene where kirby is exiled at sea as the country mourns
