I actually liked Diana's house & I chose the first option when asked about her home and she thought I was lying :-(

Mine almost always think I'm lying too, especially the snooties and smugs. Smugs call me a big silly liar-face too. >:(
I just choose to pick the middle option when I don't want to hear em going on about how I'm being too nice and etc.

They always think I'm lying when I tell them their house looked great... .__. I actually like Diana's house too and she sent me a similar letter, lol.

I tend to pick the middle option with the personality types inclined to mistrust any compliment fired their way. They seem to like that better, and I don't like telling them that their home looks awful if it doesn't.

I know I should always say if they are gifted a new shirt and put it on that it looks great, but the few times I said meh and shirt was awful, really awful they took it off. I figure if it hurt friendship will make it up to them, they usually thank me, the gifter though never gives the happy task noise. They were ones was trying to keep original as know will leave or just too cute girls to be in jock wear.

I end up arguing with my villagers over letters. Sometimes the responses match up to what I'm saying and it gets kinda funny. But, I really do like your house sometimes! I'm kinda mean to the ones I like because I'm trying to rearrange their house and if they put something silly in I tell them they look bad. Sometimes it works and they take the items out faster.

Which option is 'correct' for the villager is actually based on if

1.) Room has met a minimum number of items
2.) Those minimum number of items fit their most liked furniture

Took me the longest time to learn that with Claudia and Muffy. It took a while to fix. They both like expensive furniture. Both kept getting rid of the original furniture when I replaced the items. :<

This is pretty interesting! I've only recently dared to say they are less than perfect:) Do you think a villager would always be happy with the top choice (100 percent) if they are still in their original house?

In general, I rarely read the letters they send me, so I probably wouldn't have noticed my snooties or smugs calling me a liar!

This is the only reason I've started telling them their home is less than perfect. I wondered if there would be any reaction. Do they randomly get rid of something, or do they ping you for a replacement more quickly?

I've only gotten to try this with Clay and Lolly's homes. They've always accepted the compliment. It may depend on the personality type.

Going to try this on Grizzly. He's got 3 rare fish in his home. No idea where they came from, but he refuses to sell them.
