What is something you hate about New Leaf? Something that really urks you, could live without it in any of the games, and possibly makes the game feel unmotivating?

For me, I personally hate being greeted and told bye every single time I enter/leave a store. Isabelle is an example where she just smiles at us and that's it. I noticed in New Horizons when entering the tent to craft, the Nooks also just smiled as you entered and left and that makes me so happy. Definitely hoping they keep that for all places.
I get it's something to feel more immersive I guess? ...but I can definitely go without this as it's extremely repetitive and makes me not want to go into the store sometimes.

i hate the same thing you do, op. repetitive dialogue and having shopkeepers talk to me when i enter and leave their store is very annoying and it bothers me so much

another thing i hate is when there's an event going on in town and i can't do any mayoral business, or even scan in villagers via amiibos. animal crossing is about freedom and having the ability to do what you want when you want, and that feels very restrictive

I love this game, but yeah, there are some things I hate about it.
-The trouble I have to go through to know if a villager is moving or not. If none of my villagers have pinged about it, I have to go keep talking to two villagers until they either tell me someone is moving or they both give me some "rumor" dialog that varies depending on the villager's personality.
-The villagers seem to enjoy reminding me how the game works. This is extra annoying in the case of what I said above. Oh, here's how to easily switch between your tools! Did you know Cyrus can make you a music box or a miniature fossil? Press up to look at the sky! They've told me these things hundreds of times and I'm sick of it.
-Isabelle can be used to get rid of bad catchphrases or remove bad custom designs villagers are wearing, but she cannot give the villagers their default catchphrase or clothing. Why?
-Mail you are reading shows up on the bottom screen, and not the top screen where I can take screenshots. Do they WANT me to fill up all of my mail storage?!
-Tools just take up my inventory space. At this point I've started to just not carry them around 24/7 considering I've been using them less often than I used to.
-The game doesn't make it easy to know if I already have an art piece or not. Yeah, I can look at the sign outside of the museum, but when a villager tries to sell me one, I can't do that and I'm absolutely clueless. The fact that all of the art has generic names instead of their real names does not help me either. Do I really have to make myself a list of which art I already have?
-I can't buy or sell anything at night. Of course it makes sense that the shopkeepers are sleeping, but why can't I just use an online store? Sometimes when I'm playing at night, I suddenly really want to order something from my catalog or sell a bunch of junk I forgot to get rid of.

i just hate nighttime. i can never get anything done, which is why i time travel (something i'm trying to stop doing)

Yeah I hate being forced into dialogue and not being able to skip dialogue I've seen about a million times. Makes shopping especially tedious. Or going to the Happy Home Showcase. Like at least let me skip! Most games do :(

Yeah I can barely see at night time which makes it difficult to plan out my town or landscape. But I don't hate it. Luckily the night lighting in New Horizons looks beautiful!

Hmm, well, I don't really like how you need to have soooo much space for pwps. There are certain areas that I would like to put some of them, but nooo, apparently they're too close to the darn train tracks! Lovely!

yes! i feel like nighttime will be a complete upgrade from new leaf!

I really hate what a pain in the ass it is to change my outfit. I have my clothing items scattered throughout my inventory and in one of the rooms upstairs in the museum since it is the only way to quickly see what it is. I hate changing my outfit just because it takes me forever to find something I like through all the tabs, so I hardly ever do it.
I hope it will be a bit easier in New Horizons. I hope we can just store the clothing we want to keep in a wardrobe and when we open it up, it takes us to a seperate screen kinda like they have in Pocket Camp where you can see all your clothing items and quickly try everything until you find the look you like.

What most of you have said: repetitive dialog, tips and tricks when you've played the game for years, not being able skip dialog when entering/exiting a store, no night shop, not being able to work during events...

Some other nitpicks of mine are not being able to place furniture outside. Some furniture is just made for this purpose and filling a room with a garden theme just isn't the same. I'm soo happy this is possible in NH!
Also I kind of miss interacting with some of the PWP's, like I'm thinking about placing a hot spring but it'll just be sitting there like an extra pond and be totally useless. And the space needed to place PWP's is ridiculous.

I don't like that villagers ruin their homes by putting their furniture up for sale in Retail. I had to put up items for sale at max price to stop them. And you can't complete tasks for them either if you don't want their places filled with fish, bugs and clothing.

Yeah, this is what I’m currently working on in my town, ughgh

Money exchange.
I just wish we were able to transfer bells to another player via ABD to make life simple.
Also same for PWP/Loans, we should be able to just pay it and have it withdraw from ABD rather than having to go withdraw the amount to put in our bag. :/

This is what I hate about this game too. Just because there is bug off or fishing tourney doesn't
mean that I don't want to work on my town, but nope, Isabelle thinks I should take "a day off"
and enjoy the event. Too bad I don't care for these "events" and it sucks to skip a day forward
to finally build the PWP I want, losing time because of this. Same with the amiibos.

I also agree that the dialogue starts to get annoying when you go shopping. Or when you get
everything explained for the 79379th time, like yeah, I know how this work, stop explain the
same thing over and over again, please! I'm not that forgetful, jeez.

What I hate the most is the fact that rocks are indestructible or movable. Like come one, I can't
build anything at that spot just because of some random rock nobody would miss if it's not there
anymore? So that rock is more important than a fancy PWP. Wow, good to know. I also don't like
it that I have to be outside (except for the post office) to throw away any letters. That's so
awkward.

i hate the streetpass badge. it's the only empty space in my badges because i live in the middle of nowhere and it's KILLING me.

I hardly ever get Streetpass tags now and all my New Leaf tags are from before my long hiatus (Meaning 2013-2014). Not a single New Leaf tag has happened after I got my second town (It's been a year now) and it's bugging me!

I wish that the shopkeepers wouldn't greet me as I enter and leave the shops. I think it's a waste of time lmao.

Nook's Homes closes way too early. There are so many times I have needed to go there but it's already closed for the day. It doesn't help I tend to play more at night. I think a few other shops also close at that time, but Nook's is by far the most irritating.

The fact that I can't do mayor stuff on holidays or events, even if the tourney is over. Like dammit Isabelle I want to build a thing now!

Also, about them saying bye to you when you leave, that's actually a cultural thing. In Japan, shop keepers both greet and say goodbye to you when you enter/leave the store, I've read some even say bye/bow to you at their door. It doesn't bother me so much knowing that. Greeting I'm fine with, but saying bye, it can be a little annoying at times.

- Not being able to do mayoral duties during events like bug off and fishing tourney, etc.
- Villagers also won't give you anything to do during events or if another villager is having a birthday that day. I can understand why during events even though I dont like it. But birthdays? Umm...why? Why does the world come to a hault because Scoot is dancing in his house around a table?
- It seems ever since I got my golden watering can, that my luck.for hybrids has gone down considerably. I've been trying to get a purple rose for like a month so that I can use it to get hybrid red Rose's so I can get the rare as hell Blue rose but...its taking forever.
- Its annoying when a villager will ask for something in your inventory. Like noooo. I'm not walking around with this for you to trade me a t-shirt for. Then I feel bad when I tell them no.

I hate putting down paths. I wish you could give a line of 10 horizontal paths instead of individually placing each path marker. :/
