Something in the rain or did the RNG just love me today?

I've been trying to breed hybrids in several locations of my town for a few weeks now with a fairly low output of like no more than 3 or 4 hybrids a day max. Which was fine and as I expected. It was my routine to water those flowers every day and I'm not really in a rush.

It rained yesterday, which was cool but nothing out of the ordinary. Don't have to water, break from the sun and get to hear the rain music/ambient noise, great. So I woke up today and here is a list of the hybrids that showed up:
- 3 blue pansies, where I was typically getting none, had only gotten one prior
- 1 blue hyacinth, which spawned from my patch of reds and yellows rather than the whites or oranges
- 1 orange hyacinth
- 1 pink hyacinth
- 4 purple roses
- 1 orange tulip and 1 purple tulip (my first!)
- 1 purple mum (also my first! I don't regularly water these though)
- 1 or 2 orange cosmos (not paying much attention to the cosmos tbh, don't water them much either)
- 1 black rose (ditto)

Anyone else have smth like this happen to you?

I should also probably add I'm not tryna flex or anything, just thought this turn of events was newsworthy and a good conversation starter. Hoping y'all see success in your breeding grind!

Nice! Seems hybrid rng is weird in this game as sometimes I will have a lot of new hybrids or sometimes none at all.

Never had that good of luck though still looking for my first purple tulip and green mum after a week of watering for them haha.

That's awesome! I seem to have good and bad days when it comes to breeding. I had rain yesterday but only got 1 new hybrid spawn, but I think I've had good luck similar to yours in the past.

It happened to me too. Not as many as yours, but I did get unexpected hybrids as a result from rain.

On sunny days, flowers that I don't give much attention just loves to make hybrids, while those that I've been tending for so long just hates me (blue pansies & purple tulips). Then comes the rain, and bam. I've finally gotten the hybrids I've been working for.

the craziest hybrid I've gotten from rain is a golden rose. didn't even have a golden watering can at that point. it was shocking. I think that I get more hybrids from rain than I do just watering them.

I really haven’t had the patience to place my flowers in breeding patterns. My flowers are all over the place. I usually forget to water them too(I’m bad with plants irl too) my villagers water my plants a lot though. So I like when it rains. So usually I stumble upon hybrids and I’m surprised to see which ones I get

The rain just ends up watering more flowers since none are missed.

For your gold rose, did you get the black rose from anyone? They won't appear unless they have the gold watering can flag.

Anyway, I had been trying to grow blue pansies that whole first month (they are my sister flower so I had them in abundance), and then all of a sudden 3 blue pansies showed up all at once.

Looking back at it, there is a counter for each flower that goes up to 31, max'ing out the base chance of hybridizing, and then resets once it spawns a hybrid. so maybe they had all just hit that max counter at that point.

Oh, that's really interesting! I never heard about there being a counter. You're right, that might explain some occurrences like these. But I wonder why so many of them would go off at once like mine did... I definitely haven't watered them for a month straight.

I got 2 gold roses from rain this morning! didn't realise how common it was to get gold roses from rain, I guess it functions exactly like a gold watering can. I've also had 2 gold roses previously from rain
