Some short island stats

So I went to the island to catch bugs tonight and I drew some stats. APPROXIMATED STATS. Also, I was half-watching TV the whole time so I may have been distracted. In addition, I had some terrible luck- I didn't run into ONE shark the whole time. One more thing, I am not great at bug catching; I missed a few bugs here and there. Obviously this needs A LOT more testing but as a first trial here are the results.
DISCLAIMER: If any of my math is done wrong PLEASE post a fix so I can make this as accurate as possible. Also, if anything doesn't make sense, tell me.

Total price 334k bells (without bell boom)
Total time 31:37 min.
(Drop off-as in one trip to Re-Tail) Do 1- 128k bells
Do 2- 122k bells
Do 3 (not filled completely)- 84k bells

Are you catching the cheaper/crappier bugs? I don't use Bell Boom and I get 400k or close to it. 155k-ish for a full inventory and 80-90k for the last ReTail run. Chase away the big red ones, I forget the name, and don't catch anything on a non-palm tree unless it's a rainbow stag or giant stag. Sharks do help a lot of course because they outvalue all the bugs.

I've been trying to figure out whether it's better to stay out there and chase away the crap bugs, or to constantly go in and out of the door to reroll the spawns.

Rather than spending all my time chasing away fruit beetles and dynastids, I simply cut down all of the non-palm trees. This way, all of the bugs sell for a lot, and the only ones you have to chase away are wharf roaches and tiger beetles, which you can scare off by simply swinging the net in their general direction. Works well for me!

My Island has a single lemon tree in the middle at the bottom, I then have 3 palms either side, all I do is catch Goliath Beetle's upwards until my inventory is full, then when it is I go to the box and put all the bugs in my box apart from the goliath beetles, instead I just sell all of those to the little girl for 300 bells a pop. it doesn't slow me down any and grabs me an extra 1000+ bells per trip without having to chase off as many bugs.

I find I can get a good haul in 30-40 minutes whilst watching TV.

Like above, I have one lemon tree and 6 palms, I catch anything I can and sell the lower priced bugs to little girl and keep higher priced bugs for Re-tail. I will try to catch a shark if I see one sometimes, but fishing is not my thing and it takes more time. I can make 400k with just beetles in about 30 minutes. Also I find instead of creeping up on bugs just walking slowly but normal and lining up with edge of tree shadow works best.

How do you earn so many? I only get like 30-50k bells at retail for a full inventory, mostly 120-150 bells for a full island basket.
I haven't been playing for long, which insect and fish species do you catch and are worth most?

I always catch the sharks and sometimes the big fish as well (napoleonfish etc, releasing sea bass, annoying things...), but Im a total loss with the insects.

the large beetles on the palm trees are worth 6000- 12,000 bells each. I watched a video on YouTube for how to earn 500k in half an hour on island, the only difference was they used bell boom and I don't so I make a bit less.

Okay thanks! And as I see here to most common way to make them spawn more is to chop down the other trees (except for 1)?

I'll try it out tonight probably. Nook doesn't budge with loans does he? =P
Still working on paying off my first side room, and I am also putting down several PWPs (already got a second bridge, yellow bench, streetlight, campsite, currently working on a fence), so practically I always have little money on hand (I keep some behind to buy stuff at the Nooklings and Able Sisters, hope they'll upgrade soon...)

Edit: I do catch quite some Whale Sharks on the Island, but according to the Wikia they are rare... I already caught at least 14 of them in the last 5 days XD if it's not more... They're also worth a whole bunch!
