I think some sort of life long punishment is much better, but what would killing the killer prove? We'd be just as bad. Sure, we'd be torturing that *censored.4.0* for the rest of his/her years but killing him/her isn't going to be much of a punishment.

Yep,
if you take a life, you should get life.

Instead of killing them and ending the pain of having them regret that decision, let them live with the knowledge that they killed someone for the rest of their life.

I wouldn't really care if they did sit in jail the rest of their lives. I only really support the death penalty because it takes so much money to keep these prisoners. I forget but I did a debate on this ... and there was a statistic that said how much money is needed to keep a person in prison for a year and the cost was ridiculous. So it's better than wasting money on these messed up people.

But really, they get visitation and everything. My dad's been to jail and prison multiple times. It's not the best place to be, but it's certainly not the worst. I'm kinda undecided on the topic of life in prison vs. the death penalty. =p
