I need some help.

So I had 10 villagers in my village until Tuesday when Nate moved out. Today I went to someone elses town and talked to Stitches, and was prompted with the move to my town option. He said he would love to move to my town and that he would see me in a day or two. After I got back to my village I went forward a day (Saturday) so I could plot his house. He didnt show up so I went forward to Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Still nothing.

Now note Ive never had Stitches in my town before. And to be honest Im quite confused as to why he isnt moving in. Ive looked everywhere and tried everything that Ive read, but nothing seems to be working :/

Is there something Im doing wrong?

Just go forward a month to see if he actually moves in. Sometimes it can take a while, but if he's not there a month into the future then something happened, and he'd tell you in some way that there wasn't enough room for him to move in.

Im honestly scared to go that far forward because the last time I did that I lost a dreamie I had in my town. I just fear it happening again. Plus Im weary of TTing as it is :x

And I think I read somewhere if asking him to move in and the town was full he wouldve, like you said as well, said something along the lines of the town being full or he wouldnt be sure about it. I do for sure remember him saying he was going to move in, and was immediately prompted with the option of asking him to move in the first time I spoke to him.

Oh no, definitely don't save. Start with a new character, look around, and then go back to the present without saving.

If you can create a new save file, you'll be fine to look. Just look around, reset and don't save anything with the new file. If you had ten villagers or had him too recently, you wouldn't have gotten the moving dialog. I have heard it can take a week, so I hope he shows up soon:)

When you adopt a villager though, it's not enough for the host to save the session. You need to have them end the session or you need to leave by the train. That's what triggers the right info in your save file apparently. I have seen people adopt, the host saves, but then the wifi drops. If that happened to you, I'm afraid he might not move in.

Oh! Just saw your update. I'm so sorry:( Did you just adopt him? Can you go back to see if he's still there?

Oh wow I didnt know that! Yeah the host saved and then we started the transaction of me giving the bells and the wifi dropped. Looks like Ill have to send them a message. Im actually really bummed out know, but this is good information to have incase this happens again. Thank you very much :)

Oh dear. :(

I have to wonder, though. If you were to go back to the present, and he hadn't yet told you that there wasn't enough room is it possible to remove a PWP or two to allow him to set his plot down? I've never tried it myself (my town is pretty empty at the moment), and I have no idea when the game checks to see if the town has room or if there's a period of time in which the game keeps trying before giving up (probably not).

I wouldn't recommend trying it simply because it's kinda expensive for a gamble, but if the game hasn't already determined that Stitches can't move in you might be able to salvage this.

Yeah, try to adopt him again (if still possible). Hopefully something just happened and you don't need to try making room for Stitches.

Oh, that's a shame. Yes, as a host I would always check the villager door to be sure the moved out sign had appeared. I was shocked the first time I realized this could happen. Hopefully they don't time travel so he'll still be there in boxes.

I know once your town goes back down to 9 villagers youre able to adopt again to fill the 10th spot. Ive done this a couple times before. However I dont think itll be possible for me to go back over to the town he is from because the user hasnt been online since 4pm (EST) and I believe theyre 5 or 6 hours ahead so theyre probably asleep right now. I did send them a message about it. I remember them asking if I wanted to double check and I wish I had, and had this knowledge sooner. I hope others can take note of this so it doesnt happen to them :/

Like I said above I dont think Ill be able to go back over since I probably wont hear from the original owner until sometime tomorrow. I really hope this never happens to anyone else :/

You might want to ask them to please set the date back on their game first if they haven't loaded it. Hopefully they will get your message before they turn on the game!

Yeah, but if you put up a lot of projects while at 9 villagers you might end up making the game think there's no room for the new one. That's what I would think, anyway. I don't know a whole lot about the game mechanics yet, so I could easily be mistaken.

Aw, it's a shame that the host is offline. :( I'll hope for the best anyway.

I did send them another message about trying that. Hopefully they do see it but if not stuff happens. We have to learn somehow :P
