So you weren't happy with the update..is there at least something you appreciate from it?

Now that I think about it, was the new content they gave us so far just the wedding event one?
May Day and Museum Day were also included in updates, but I can't blame you for forgetting about them. May Day was a good idea that was blown by making it a one time one maze event. If you could visit a new maze each day with them getting more challenging each time and getting new rewards each time, it could have been a worthwhile update. Museum Day could have been interesting if they had designed it more like a scavenger hunt with things hidden in the exhibits, but just finding obvious stamp stands was boring. Wedding Day just seems like a half-hearted attempt to shoehorn Cyrus and Reese into the game now that Re-Tail is gone.

As far as I remember, all of the update content so far has either been returning content or one-off events with little replayability. A lot of the returning content is honestly in a worse form than in NL. Having Leif show up as a special visitor is worse than him having his own shop and Redd on a boat is just harder to get to and I don't remember him ever having all fake art in NL. I was honestly happier before that update when Gulliver, CJ, and Flick showed up more often. I was excited for Bunny Day until I actually got the update and found out the main feature was balloon spam. Also the annoying stuff that came with the updates like nerfing interest and bug spawn rates and removing hybrid islands.

So far all of the updates have come with unnecessary strings attached that make them less enjoyable than they should be. I have a feeling that the next update is going to have more bad surprises than good ones.

If they have a pumpkin spice latte at brewsters for autumn ..... idk

I like the mermaid set although I liked the new mermaid set so it seems weird having both now...

I really don’t know how somebody could not be happy about an update, especially when it’s FREE. I understand and agree that maybe diving should’ve been a feature upon release, but I also think this game as a whole may not have been truly ready to come out on the day it did. Like there are soooo many missing things I can’t help but believe that the developers underestimated the time they needed but didn’t want to move the release date again as that would be a horrible marketing move, at least to them it seemed that way (I personally think the fans would be annoyed, but understand).

Nintendo has never been a transparent company so I won’t be surprised if we never get answers as to why so much content was cut only to be added in the future. Could they have purposefully decided on “drip” updates? Yes. I personally don’t think that’s the case however.

Either way, a free update is FREE and they’re doing their best to bring back old content. As long as I don’t have to pay for it, I’m happy.

Whaaaaaaa????? What do you mean I'm not happy? This update is one of the best so far! We can now swim, dive for sea creatures, and get the mermaid series! So yeah maybe we won't get the cafe or grow vegetables right now but I'm glad they aren't releasing everything all at once. It makes the game more playable and fun throughout the year.

I'm quite happy and excited about the update, especially about the mermaid set considering it is a hint at the possibility of older sets returning! Updates also help keep the game fresh, which I appreciate a lot.

However, I don't think people who are not satisfied with them need to explain themselves. Yes, it's a free update, but considering the game was delivered as a base game (i.e not finished) then it should just be expected in order to get the full game eventually. Some people prefer getting the full game firsthand instead of waiting for slow rollouts (I did think the updates would come out faster, but I've grown used to the slow pace) and that's completely acceptable.

Otherwise, I'm mostly waiting for another Nook's upgrade, and hoping for fairytale theme bridges/furniture coming back too!

I'm excited for the diving! I've already caught all the fish and bugs so I need some new critters to catch!

just had to look up the update news cuz i'm slow lolz. but i'm sooooooooo freaking happy to be able to swim!!! ....can...can my villagers swim now? i always wanted that in NL like to just see them walking along the beach and swimming but in NH i get to see them on the beach so it'd be super awesome if they could swim with you =) but probably not likely as that would be a pain to code and the glitching it might cause....but fun thought. i'm happy with all the updates tbh and can't wait for more.

Diving will give us all something to do and the mermaid series coming back at least makes it look like they will be bringing other sets back.

I am a bit disappointed with the drip-feed because all the other games were complete from the get-go so we as a community back than were never really doing the same thing. Each persons' goals and tasks were unique and different. When these updates hit we're all going to be doing the same stuff (diving for sea creatures and the mermaid series)

So we'll be getting more of the same-face island designs with everyone show casing their mermaid series in their room or how they decorate their island in mermaid stuff.

I think its a pretty nice update. Personally I don't really care for Brewster that much, I'd rather more content/furniture then to get him back imo

Honestly I feel the same way. I enjoyed swimming and diving than Brewster in nl! Even in winter my character did her little leap of faith off the dock and went for a swim! All I wanted was swimming and it's here so I'm happy with this update.

How are people unhappy with it 😂
I’m thrilled! Swimming, diving, it all sounds awesome!

mans I really enjoy ocean themed things (like the shell set) so I’m excited for the mermaid set as well!
