I checked my island yesterday and was told I had a 5 star island. Today I found a lily of the valley. I have decorated such a small amount of my island so far so yes I'm going to keep decorating and changing up my island until I'm really happy with it. Just hoping I don't lose my 5 star rating along the way!
I've got a 5 star rating and I'm still halfway through the process of completely decorating and terraforming the island. Like, there's whole areas that are fully undeveloped.
When i got 5 star I was genuinely surprised haha, half my island is still complete wilderness! I'm a long way from done decorating but I put that on hold temporarily because I'm out of ideas. I still have a ton of space for future projects though!
I got mine to 5 stars today, but I'm not done decorating yet. I haven't done much with my beaches yet at all. I have two areas that I haven't really decorated yet, and my trees and flowers are a scattered mess.
So I guess I'll finish off the areas I mentioned then place the trees and flowers in a pleasing way. And then I'll probably go around filling in more areas with weeds and patterns and tweaking everything.
Oh and once I start getting Lily of the Valley/ Jacob's Ladders I'm going to replace some of my other white flowers with those.
I received my five-star rating way faster than I had expected. My island is around 60-70% complete right now. Recently I just have enjoyed playing the game, moving some villagers around, and working on my museum. I plan to continue decorating my incomplete areas after a little break since I'm a little burnt out from terraforming. I also want to play around with a map designer/planner to see what kind of space I have to work with.
I got mine by throwing radom furniture all over the island because I really don't know if I'll get enough nature points otherwise and I can't feel free enough to build my island the way I want to if I might lock myself out of the watering can recipe. Now I'm just waiting for my last lily of the valley before I can finally clean up the mess. If I don't reach five stars again, I got everything I want.
My wife spent 350+ hours, got 5 stars. She wasn't satisfied with it and the next day (after hitting 5 stars) she deconstructed her entire island and reconfigured it. She's still in the process of building out her "new" island. It's basically a soft reset and it's been good for her since she learned how to design the layout better after her first go round. I can see how the experience from her "first" island changes how you see your island as a whole as I'm still on my 1st attempt and I can see design mistakes that I wouldn't have done if I had known about it AFTER the fact.
Get as many lily of the valley plants as I need and then revert back to a 4 star. They made me cut 500 of my trees down and I have run out of storage space and patience. I think I might replant many trees and I am going to start dropping stuff on the beach again.
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, I saw all the memes of people adjusting their island according to Isabelle repeatedly and still not getting it so I thought it would be something I really had to work towards, but I just worked on my island as I wanted it to look, then out of curiosity one day, I asked Isabelle what my island rating was, and she said it was 4-stars, just need to clean up the clutter and put more decorations out. So I picked up all my recipes and put out a few more benches, and I was at 5-stars already!
I'm just gonna keep working on my island as I wanted, right now I have the layout complete and I'm just shuffling my flowers around, adding more furniture. Some of my friends did say there is a chance she'll say "too much _____", so maybe my rating will change down the line if I over-decorate or something and I can deal with it then.
I like the natural look and keeping things simple, so I was susprised when I got the 5 stars. I'm pretty fine with how everything is right now, but if I get some pretty Celeste recipes and if they add Brewster I'll propably make some adjustements.
I've had 5 stars for a couple of weeks but my island isn't finished yet. I need to move most of my villager's houses, build a couple more bridges and move some inclines that don't make sense now I've terraformed a little. Then I'll start setting up a nice museum area and probably end up having to move everything again.
i'm now enjoying getting new villagers (i don't have a set dreamie list), saving up bells to share with my friends, and collecting rare items. and i still have work to do on my island! i have one small open patch and i haven't done anything with my beaches
