when Kiki moved into my town, she kept asking for fruit, and I kept bringing her perfect fruit. In her first week, she gave me a throne, and the white and black katanas too.
once when I was running out of storage space and redecorating i parked the throne at recycle for full shop price, basically using it as free storage bc i knew it wouldnt get purchased by a villager. Kiki was looking at in and said something like, "Oh my, I-i-i-i didn't know thrones were so expensive!!" heh, it made me feel kinda bad. (but i later realized that's an autoscript for all the normal villagers who see the throne in recycle)
Ive done this with royal crowns, you can get lazy villagers to pay full retail price for items when you play their Guess what fruit im thinkign of" game. this is helpful when youve taken crowns from somebody as payment, usually at the recycle price. then you can sell it to the lazies for full retail and basically quadruple your profits from your original deal with the other player...
