He asked me for a fruit, any fruit, so I decided to give him a perfect apple. Since my town fruit is a pear, I always give my villagers a perfect fruit from another town to boost our friendship level. But when I gave it to him, after freaking out over it, he gave me a throne. It's apparently 800k. Has this happened to anyone else? Or have you gotten a really rare/expensive item? He isn't my "town best friend" so I was pretty shocked... I mean, I knew he loved food, but I didn't think that was possible...

It means your friendship level is high with him - if you haven't got his picture then now is the time to butter him up - so if he requests any fish/bug give him the rarest you can get (go to your island if you haven't got any in stock). Do his requests if possible & send him a daily letter + gift.

Yep, this has happened to me twice. I've been given a throne one time from Olaf, and another one from Stitches much later.

I didn't have much use for them, so I sold them in the end, haha.

I got a throne like, maybe 2 times? I just kept one for later and sold the other. But I didn't know giving perfect fruit or rare stuff boosts friendships! I'll try that for now on.

The other day,Pinky gave me a throne for giving her a perfect apple and a couple of days before that,Tangy gave me a throne for giving her some astro furniture on her birthday.I've received four thrones during the time I've been playing New Leaf and three of those came from peppy villagers(Pompom gave me one a couple of years ago).

If you ever wanna sell it, I highly recommend doing the lazy camper exploit. I've never done so before, but I can imagine the amount of bells you must get is insane.

Yes it's a nice surprise. The first one came from a villager in my main town. I've received them from villagers for doing nothing. They just wanted to give me a gift. It was good luck on items days and I was wearing the clothing item.
Found a few in letters. I've also got them from Wishy Star Night.
