My town is in winter right now, so I thought "hey, why not try and get the entire snowman set myself?". I just made my first perfect snowman and I had great ease with it thanks to a visual guide. I just got all of the ice set, and maybe I might go and finish the fishing set, too.

My only question is, what makes these sets so expensive? Are they all random? Or are they given in order? That, to me, would be a good reason to sell it for a lot of bells on here. Speaking realistically, if you make a perfect snowboy every day for two months, how hard would it be to complete the set, including the head and doll? I'd really like to know, just so I'm prepared.

I think they're expensive because it's random. Sometimes it can be difficult to get the entire set. As for the snowboy thing, I would assume that it would be possible. Maybe more difficult because I think the two items you mentioned are rare.

I haven't gotten the full set yet, but so far no repeat pieces and I did get the doll. I didn't read anywhere that it is random, but I can see how it would be tedious. Then again, I have only done this for three days with time traveling. I really want to see if it is random, because I feel that someone should mention that on the wiki if it is, like they did with others.

I didn't have any trouble getting all the snowboy, snowman and snowmam items. It just took a bit of time and patience. It was the snowtyke that gave me a hard time. I built the entire snow family perfectly 4 times, and got the matrykoshka ( I know I spelled that wrong)., every single time. I didn't know that you had to have some that weren't built perfectly to get the other three items. I gave up on that one and bought the other items online.

Ahh, I see. That would explain why I already have the doll and head and no repeats. I figured they would have mentioned it somewhere like on reddit if it were random, that would definitely be important.

They're still seasonal and you can only get them on days where it's snowing, so they're not super easy to get.

It's for the same reason why Gracie Sets are expensive even though you can buy them directly from the store and pay for entire sets with just a few trips to the island or playing around with the stalk market.

I see. Thank you for clarifying. I suppose it is easy with time traveling, but that is how I choose to play. ^^

Now that I have received 11/15 pieces with no duplicates I can safely say it is not random, or my luck is amazing. But I can see why it would be tedious.

i agree- i dont believe these sets are dispensed with random repeats until you have all of the pieces. they are expensive bc it's difficult to make the snowpeople properly, bc bingo for instance can take a long time to win, and bc unorderable sets tend to be expensive anyhow...

Because most people don't have the time or patience for it.

Especially the ski set.

Also, unorderables in general are really pricy. Especially seasonal ones.

seasonal items are rare and sometimes you won't get them in order. you can receive the same pieces multiple times so thats why theyre expensive i believe.

It's because making a perfect set of snowfamily is HARD, lol! I have spent entire winters rolling those buggers and never got my DREAM, the snow family matryoshka! Oh to sleep, perchance to dream, lol!
