so many bells

@melsi how many perfect fruit trees do you have to have to make that much?

On a day that's not premium, each is worth 3000 bells. So 9000 bells per tree. So about 166 perfect apple trees is probably what I have. I use my second town to grow in and my first to sell in.

I've never tried turnips though...I never know how many you should buy to make a certain profit so I've just procrastinated giving it a chance.

Well you could make about 5x as much as you spend. Typically, you could buy turnips at around 100 bells per pop. (although most likely you'd buy for less). And sell for at least 500 bells each (although could be more). But just to estimate 5x would make it easy. So if you buy 100,000 bells worth, you'd get back 500,000 bells. Although, like I said, the profit margin would most likely be a bit more than that. The more turnips you buy/sell, the more money you make. :lemon:

Thanks, that helps a lot. :3 I think I'll try buying some this Sunday.
Do you personally just buy a couple pocketfuls or do you fill an entire locker?

Well I've only done it 3 times. The first couple times, I just filled my pockets cause I was shy and unsure, lol. The third time, I filled one and a half sections of my locker. I've never done a whole locker full, oh my. But I'm sure people do that all the time. @u@

weekly turnip trading is super easy since wifi is a thing. that's all. there is no longer a high risk with buying turnips like in the old days.

... Why is no one just using retail for some of the big bell instead of littering an entire town drops?

I have several towns and NONE of their Re-Tails EVER offer anything good! I suck at the luck of turnips. Only once did I get a good price from Reese. I know I can't check all the time, but I check often and I constantly get "45 bells" or "56 bells"... ARGH! I didn't know bad luck could translate to several 3DS's... :(

I don't think I would mind buying a few of the cheap items that are up in re-tail just to put it back up for an easier transfer of bells to another without littering an entire town with bells that I would have to pick up. XP
...
Rest of comment I don't see how it relates to my question, so I'll assume it is either just addition frustration info about Re-tail, a reply to someone else, or you misunderstood my question. ^^'

Isn't picking up the bell bags as they're dropped just common sense? I'm surprised that's even a problem tbh.

I've never had surplus money in my bank account until recently (I just sold a fairly popular villager) but I know that I'll have that spent pretty quickly and I'll be back to being poor again. For some reason I've always had a mental block over the stalk market. I'd really like to understand how it works better because as far as I can see that seems to have always been the way most people make so much money.

I find this spread sheet made my a tumblr user very useful...
Their other post (here) shows more of the images of what it kinda looks like.

EDIT
Those are links are about turnips forgot to include. XP
Most of the times I sold turnips in another town and not my own, but I have only done turnips maybe to or three times.

Like someone else said I think mostly just to avoid disputes in case someone doesnt drop enough or counts wrong because both can see the total all at once and verify it cause if it does happen there can be problems ;3;

People are rich due to:
Stalk market
Beetle hunting
Trading with japanese friends to get exclusive DLC item
"Trading" with "japanese friends" to get exluseive DLC items (duping)

bc sometimes retail is far away from the bank OR people have maze like towns with trees and bushes that makes it slow to run back and forth btwn the bank and retail. makes it even harder when i have to walk bc of their hybrids and flowers

ya, whenever I see someone dropping 30 mil on a villager I kind of assume duping these days- not that everyone does but
probably a large and growing group of people?

I know its cheating and whatever but its basically allowed on here as long as you don't use the word and there is no way they can prove you are duping since there's no difference in the bells/items. I don't know why they dont just allow people to admit it on the forum lol. TBH it might be better if they do cause they could have a separate duping subforum so people who want their games to stay 'pure' can avoid duped items lol
It has already messed up the Retail sections pricing of stuff people with shops that have infinite stock of rare items that cant be reordered and such would be nice to see a seperate section for that xD

Scared of the responses this will get ahahhaa pls dont hurt me guys

This makes sense; thank you. ^-^
I have mine super close to the train station so I forget that some towns have theirs half way across the map. XP

Oh thank you! I need all the help I can get when it comes to the stalk market! xP

Oh yeah I see what you mean. I think most people on this site are fairly trustworthy though?
