FIRST I see people offering like 20 million bells for villagers easily these days
IS THERE SOME TRICK to dropping all the bell bags? Or do trades seriously take like 30 minutes because they're literally covering your town in money

second why is everyone so rich in the forum now >_> it goes up to 20mil so fast these days like that used to be soo rare guaranteed win now its like
the beginning price for top tier villagers ahaha

I ain't rich by any stretch of the imagination. I maintain my towns mostly and cycle villagers to give away.

I did buy turnips once, but only because ONE lousy time an extra town of mine actually had a good turnip price to sell at for once.

I do giveaways, so I don't get bells for my villagers. I know lots of people do a lot of bug hunting, buy and sell turnips, and others sell popular villagers.

But you aren't alone. I'm pretty bell poor, actually! I can seldom even buy at Gracie's! Lol!

As for part 2...I'm not sure. I think they have to fill your town with money bags. I don't see any other way.

Well the game is almost a year old now! I just started playing 3 months ago so I am also surprised! But when you complete all your sets, houses and town there is nothing else to spend bells on/ So people just save up for there dream villagers!

I think the only way to trade is just throw down tons of 99k bell bags from your locker OR put items in the retail for 999,999. Which is faster if you need to pay multi millions of bells. The amount you list the item for is automatically transferred to your ABD :)

I dont understand why people don't pick up the bell bags that people drop and deposit it. I traded millions with someone but they never picked up the bell bags to clear floor space for me, so yes, i had to litter their whole town with bell bags.

PLEASEEEEE everyone! pick up the bell bags when someone is dropping them and deposit them to the bank! It'll make it SOOO MUCH faster. EVEN faster if you pick em up while it's being dropped so that the 'dropper' can keep dropping bags without stopping.

just a little tip

@Ankhes YA ahah I feel you, I used to do the hunting for beetles on island thing, and that takes a while and bring's in like 200k~ ish I think? I haven't in a while but takes forever just to get 1mil !! Turnips are forsure the best way if you can get those high selling prices ; u ;

@BellsmanAC Ya I've been playing since the day it came out :> !! Stayed up late to download it from the eshop right away heheh
I've heard of putting items in retail but theres only what 8 spaces and I think you cant put more in while someone is in your town so that only accounts for like 8mil? Or maybe I'm wrong :s IM NOT SURE
They need to give us bell debit cards or something

That's a good idea haha I NEVER KNOW whether to do it or not just for the sake of making sure its all there when both of you can see all the bags?

i mean its also easier to keep track of how many bells have been dropped when you deposit it to the bank. OR are you actually counting every bag thats dropped and multiplying by 99k? (that would be way too much work if someone is dropping 20 mil)

People probably constantly do turnip-trading to build up their bank account. You could earn probably 5million bells with a locker full of turnips. Then maybe sell villagers bc they can get a lot from that.

Like BellMan said, you could finish off your house payments with one good turnip trade. Then once you do that, saving money is easy. A little here or there for PWPs, but if you constantly trade turnips and/or sell villagers, it's pretty easy to make a lot of money.

Me? I'm poor too, lol. I couldn't even pay 1 million for a villager. And none of my houses are complete in either of my towns. >_>

About the picking up the bags...I would have waited too, unless I was told to pick them up. I also am afraid that the person would want to be sure that all the bells would be accounted for and unless they are laying about to be counted I wouldn't want to make the person leaving them think I would try to extra out of them or something.

And yeah, Beccu, the Island can bring up to about 400,000 depending on what you take back, but being selective takes FOREVER and that stupid basket runs out of space fast. Argh! It's maddening, isn't it? :)

Ways people make money:

Selling Villagers
Selling Beetles from the Island
Turnip Market
Perfect Fruit (selling them for a premium at other towns)
Selling forum bells (some people offer to buy 1 forum bell for 9000)
Giveaways on forum (there was recently a 100mil bell giveaway)
And of course duping unfortunately :(

Most players seem to make their money by selling villagers and turnips on this forum. I run across a lot of players that have 1 badge only and that's a gold one for turnips.

Ah yes...I forgot about perfect fruit. I don't do that often enough between my own towns, but it does help me a bit. I haven't paid off my houses yet but when I have time I do trade the perfect fruit and can at least pay off a loan here and there.

The forbidden word...I suppose people do do that, but you can't locally, and it is pretty involved from what it sounds like and from a video I saw on YouTube and you have to be very quick and accurate. Most people wouldn't do that even if they could. Still, I guess some people do.

Someone once said that if you have good beetles and you have a lazy camper you can make some bells. I've never tried that so I don't know how much you could get out of a lazy camper.

Hmm it depends what lazy, but i believe marshal is still the most expensive villager... however his price is dropping. :D

I have found that the forbidden Voldemort word seems to be done mostly by players that have 2ds consoles or they do it with a family member that obviously have their own ds.. lol.

Honestly villagers have gone up to 40 million...and it's gone down a little since I've had the game in July last year. So the high bells for villagers really isn't new. Some people drop bell bags or they put items up in retail for the highest price so that the person buys and the bells go straight to their bank account.

People do turnips, sell TBT bells, sell perfect fruit, beetle harvest of the island, and sell hybrids to make lots of bells. Of course some people get a popular or fairly popular villager and sell them for bells as well.

Probably because it can already hinder the wifi connection if the person you're wifi-ing with doesn't have a good connection. It's sometimes better for the host to stand there because when you're both running in and out of buildings it's hard on the connection and can drop multiple times making you have to start completely from scratch.
I'd also agree it'd be easier to count with the bells laying out and no disagreement of if the proper amount was given or not.

I feel like Julian/Marshal used to go for like 8-12 million a few months ago, and reaaallly rarely up to 20 million
+I never knew that affected wifi connection enough to cause dcs :o

Marshal could go as high as 50-60 million last year...I think once he even went for 90 million.
Julian was more around 30-40 million. They both average from 20-30 million now from what I've seen but I don't stalk the auctions that often honestly.

I mean when you deposit the bell bags into the bank... u can see what is accounted for no? (simple math) Still seems like a better way rather than counting bag by bag. I guess counting bag by bag for a few mil is okay but what happens when it reaches 30mil? thats 300+ bags on the floor you'll have to count one by one.

But to each their own. I just prefer the other way, i also save the game every few mil that is dropped so that the person wouldnt have to start from scratch if the wifi disconnects.

Selling beetles (and perfect fruit on premium? idk never done it) won't get you 20 million bells though. :P 400,000 in a half hour trip. I guess if you make a bunch of trips, you can make a lot of money. Maybe like 2-3 million in one night? That's still nowhere near what you can make with turnips and villager sales.

The couple times I did turnip trading, I used the money I made from beetle hunting to buy turnips and then sell at someone's store.

What's this about a lazy camper and beetles? I've never heard of it. >_>

what in the world really? I used to lurk in there fairly often and I never saw that high! ; u ; goodness

On the island, I usualy make 400,000 in 15 minutes. Selling perfect fruit gets me 1.5 million per harvest...and that's way less then what I used to have planted. Also not including selling on premium but just in a different town on a general day.
Then if you factor in TTing...you can easily make quite a bit of bells with perfect fruit.

I've never tried turnips though...I never know how many you should buy to make a certain profit so I've just procrastinated giving it a chance.
