well,

basically due to my laptop troubles I've decided to buy some more RAM for it. Given it's mainly the gaming experience which lacks. I have an ok graphics card which is fine for anything I play so I've decided to leave it. It's just my laptop is TERRIBLE at running flash games and so I've decided to try and getting some RAM.

Basically from what I remember:

1gig = ?20
2gig = ?30
4gig = ?40/?50

I'm hoping to get my dad to buy me a 4Gig of RAM to add to my current 1Gig to give me the obvious 5gig. Thoughts?

I might go for 3 gig to boost my laptop to 4 gig
the idea of a laptop 4times faster than this is rather cumworthy given this actually beats my mates NEW laptop and I bought this off him for ?50 and it's like... 4 years old?

RAM will make a very minor difference on your computer performance, it certainly won't quadruple the speed of anything. Besides, I doubt a laptop of all things will have the number of RAM slots available for all the RAM you are thinking of acquiring, at most I would assume 2 slots, so you would have to remove the 1GB and input 2 new ones to get anything higher than 3GB.

Laptop RAM is also much more expensive than PC RAM so I would expect it to be more than what you've listed.

Besides that, unless you're on Windows 7 64 Bit (which I'm doubting based on your 1GB of RAM), your computer won't be able to recognise anything more than 3GB therefore worthless to get.

I've had the laptop checked already prior to this.
I have 2/3 slots of SD RAM which I can put anything to 1-3 gig of RAM in each. Plus I can show you a screenshot of my windows bios screen saying I have W7 64bit if you really don't believe me.

Maybe that's why your computer is going slow. I doubt your computer is good enough to run 64 bit steadily.

You need to re-read.
It's fast to the point of beating new laptops. It just FAILS at gaming and running flash.

If your system is bogged down by an operating system that has too high requirements for it then running high-process things such as gaming and flash will push it over the edge and lag them.

Basically, it's not a RAM issue.

Come on, it's like your suggesting that Windows Vista is better than Win 7 ultimate.

EDIT: plus my computer score shot up from being mainly 3.9s on Vista to 4.4s on W7. Even my friend admitted I've sped the heck out of the laptop. It's not a fact ''it can't run the OS'' because that's bull**** Jas0n (J/s). It's always had RAM problems with it managing to hit 99% RAM for loads of the processes.

Probably because it was a clean install and you didn't have all your old startup crap and other stuff slowing it down. Not because of the new OS. If you just reinstalled Vista you'd probably get the same effect.

No same **** when I re-formatted when I got the laptop. It was kinda terrible then even.

Anyway:

Proof enough I have W7 ultimate 64bit Jason?

BTW the 2.7 is due to my graphics card. But I haven't done all the updating of it yet (to confused on how given the files were just confusing = = ).
