Does it seem to anyone else we have some serious flaws? The fact that there's no way to catalogue and buy for yourself the other colors of Nook Miles furniture, the fact that you can't buy bulk items. All that kinda stuff, do you think it's coming? And if so.. when?

i feel like if those features do come, it likely won’t be a while as nintendo is probably more focused on repping out bigger features/fixes than those ones ;w;

These aren't "flaws", they're design choices. Do they suck? Yes. But they're working as intended.

I feel like some things weren't thought out well! such as crafting fish bait, which I haven't done in a long time due to my wrist pain, repeatedly tapping the A button to make 10 fish bait to try and get a certain fish is...a design flaw for me LOL I'm sure I'm not the only player who has wrist pains, but I feel like Nintendo should've taken more things into account before releasing it. I wouldn't have minded waiting another month or more for them to produce a better version of the game.

I also do not see them as flaws. I would like to be able to bulk-craft fish bait, however. That would be the only related update I'd like, but I still wouldn't necessarily call it a flaw. This game is still the most amazing game ever to me. I do find it kind of disappointing that we can't select and order other colors of the Nook Miles furniture nor can we customize them, but I doubt there would be a change to that and it doesn't impact my enjoyment.

Oh, you know, I'd love to be able to paint the airport. It's orange... I mean, I've made it work... and I guess it looks kinda cool with what I managed to do with it, but I dig blue and wish I could make it blue, or to put a custom design on it.

The thing is that they planned and coded everything the way it is for a reason. This is why it's not a design flaw, as these things are all working as intended. A design flaw, for example, is whatever is making the dupe glitch possible, as that is an unintended outcome of a coded event.

Personally, I think the game we received reflects Nintendo's vision of how ACNH should be. If it's dev cycle took 6 more months, the game would still be the same, although probably more polished (the villager related glitches and the duping would probably not be there, as an example).

Nintendo is well known as a company that firmly keeps their policies and ideas despite any kind of backlash from the community. They've been operating like this since they entered the videogame market, even before the Famicom. They're probably not changing their stance now.

if we are able to get all of the colors by cataloging then it'll destroy the purpose of playing with friends.
I like trading with other people for their colors or for bells etc. It helps keep people's islands unique.

It's also a way for Nintendo to convince people to subscribe to their online service (same thing applies to foreign fruits and downloading design patterns)

Yea and personally the online subscription is worth it & useful. Things like running shops, hosting events etc with users beyond irl friends make the game more fun. Sadly a lot of new ac players aren't familiar with forum usage but it makes playing and having a cool island even more purposeful. Though, this is just an emotional reason why I think nintendo would have the thought process they do so far. You're right when it comes to making money for the company... in almost a facade of such haha.

I know, it's just something I am unable to do unless I want to be unable to play without pain for a while. I just kind of wish video game companies would consider people with disabilities or like me un-diagnosed muscle and hand aches (I had gone through a lot of doctor appointments to just be told "that's just how it is sometimes") It makes me sad that some parts of the game I won't be able to really do, I guess I can purchase things like fish bait from other people, but it sucks to me at least that I can't do something as simple as digging up clams and crafting them without causing myself to have extreme wrist pain.

Yeah, accessibility (I mean, true accessibility, not these "make the games easy enough so even a baby can finish it" measures the media call accessibility) is still a problem for many gaming companies.

Colorblindness, which is a very common type of disability (it's not a "disability" per se in most cases, but it can totally screw some players up depending on the game), is still something that most companies don't take into account when developing their games.

The only big step towards accessibility I've seen in a long time came from Microsoft. They created a special controller for the Xbox One (and it works on PC too, if I recall correctly) design to make games accessible for people with different kinds of disabilities. It's a great initiative, but it's still a drop in the ocean.

The controller in question is this one

I honestly don't expect them to do any of the quality of life type things we all want. It would be nice if they did, but I think they're focused on other things and/or decided it's a design choice.

I mean I just think of it like this: minecraft aint telling you where the diamonds are. There's always going to be some sort of grind thats tedious but part of the experience
