Yes, I know I'm posting this late at night... and I know I sound like an utter noob, but I've had my town for several months now and tonight, I finally reached one million bells- all through the island. I've heard people earn hundreds of thousands from turnips, but I've only recently considered actually using them to make a nice living for myself. If it's not too much to ask, could somebody explain in full detail how it works? I've tried looking online, but no one is of much help, really. Thanks everyone!

Oh- and happy first post to me :D

So essentially with turnips is that on Sunday, you need to track down Joan in the morning before 12pm.

Buy as many turnips as possible from her. I've filled up my whole locker before doing this. Then you check your Retail turnip selling prices once in the morning and once at night. It changes. Sometimes they follow a certain pattern so you can track to see when they will be highest and when to sell them. Other times it is easier to watch the online board to see whenever someone has a high price and then ask to sell in their town.

People have used this site in the past to plot out their turnip price to see what their pattern is: http://www.kurtboyer.com/guides/AnimalCrossingCityFolk/StalkMarket/

It advises them on when to hold out and when to sell. However, I find it easier to just wait for someone to have a high price in their town and then sell there. Also, TTing forward or backwards will cause turnips to spoil. So don't do that and you won't lose money that way. They will spoil on Sunday mornings as well.

This isn't a super fleshed out explanation of how the turnips work, but I think it's all the basics and easy to understand.

Thanks, everyone. My understanding is still a bit blurry, but I kind of understand it better now. Apologies for the dumb question

It's not a dumb question at all! Do let us know if you have any other questions about it all. :)
