Does anyone else have these so-called "friends" who only contact you when they need something from you? It's incredibly annoying, and in my case usually concerns homework questions. And that's not even the worst part... they then tell their friends -- who are of similarly woeful intelligence -- that you helped them out, and then you start hearing from these friends about THEIR homework issues... It's a never-ending cycle. :(

I do. They call or text just to dump their problems on me. When I try to call or text, they say that they don't usually get texts back or texts don't send from their phone, yet they'll text me the next day to dump their problems on me and when i tell them how annoying this is, they say "Well I'm sorry you feel ignored and that my problems don't matter to you!"

Some people are just so annoying.

Used to. Never really called them my friend though.
I just flatly said no. & that was that.

Yeah, but then again, I'm like that sometimes.
So I shouldn't say much.
basically this.

all my friends and i used each other/were used by each other. but, that's kinda what friendship's about, right? besides the whole "I really enjoy just hanging out with you" part.

I give people advice and consider them friends, but im nit necessarily close to them.
I sometimes ask for advice off of people as well.

I don't really think they're leading you on into thinking you're friends with them or anything...

I think they're just texting you for homework help :/

I think that one of my friends were like that, Since when I went to the nearest shop near our school (Tesco) after school he'd always ask me to buy something for me and he always asked me to buy him things. But I'm like really good friends with him so... I don't know.

Oh yes, I have those friends. I've stopped talking to them all together, I don't have any desire to be around them or even speak to them.

Daniel....

Help me in Biology? I'll help you with any psych courses you have. :P

Trevor, that would at least be a reciprocal relationship! Haha. :P The person I'm talking about basically ignores me when I make small talk and then contacts me out of the blue for help... in this case, two days before a rescheduled final.

If my friends ever want to have a five hour long conversation about their boyfriend/girlfriend breaking up with them I usually say I don't have time to talk or I just make up an excuse to get off the phone like 15 minutes later. *I hate phone calls.*
If my friends ever ask me for help on homework I say no. It's your fault you didn't do it.

Not that this really counts but when I was in Year 4 (like 11 years old) I had an end of year exam, and this kid next to me (who was my friend but then he was a dick head so I told him to get lost) kept copying my answers, so I had to rub out all my answers and make them be wrong, so he would get them wrong, then he handed in his test paper so I erased all my answers that were wrong then the teacher was like "Time's up" and I had nothing on my paper and I failed my exam :(

Oh ****ing yes. Everyday I have to turn off my facebook chat from 5:00pm to 11:00pm. It's really ridiculous, I had a two hour delay yesterday and I had someone skype video chat at 8:00am asking me for the answers to labs, and sadly I can't say no and ended up giving them all the information it took me two hours to find in 5 minutes. It really irritates me, some people need to learn that they won't always have a "friend" to help them. >.< I need to learn to say "no".

I've had that happen to me before, but later on the guy that was doing it wrote one of my term papers for me because I was pressed for time after being out of class for 2 months. Sometimes things have a weird way of turning on you...

Yep, I've had that happen. A lot of the time they just ask me what the homework was, or if we have to do a certain part. Those I am fine with answering, but if they need content, it's when I get annoyed. Usually I try to explain it in some way that I know they won't understand, or just tell them I don't understand the homework either.
