So are villagers on nook island only a one time thing?

I've moved in 3 villagers, unlocked able sisters and nook's, upgraded the latter, and have 9 villagers and i still dont see any villagers on the island at all. Starting to think they're just a one time thing.

Yup, they moved in but i forced them to move out. Ive met all the requirements. Have you seen multiple villagers already on your nook island?

After upgrading the Resident Service Tent to a building, I sold a plot of land. After finding a place and visiting the island, there was villager. So you just have to sell land first. This was something I was previously worried about, too!

Probably through amiibos/campsite visitors.

But yeah, like what everyone has been saying, you need to have an empty plot available before anyone can appear on the island tours.

I think you need to lay down a plot of land. Only then will the villagers start re-appearing on the islands.
