I think the Snow bunny from the Snowboy set is very cute. I always thought it was a cake with frosting on it because it looks like it's on a plate. But .....am I wrong? Is it supposed to be a pet bunny??? If it's not food , I'm taking it off my dessert table immediately before Gordon Ramsay comes to scream at me for trying to poison my visitors.

It's not a food item. Technically it is edible, but it's literally just a bunch of snow with two leaves stuck in.

It seems to be a kind of thing people do when it's been snowing outside, like an alternative to making snowmen. It's also more popular in Japan than it is anywhere else, likely due to their fascination with cute things.

I always thought it was either snow or a cute donut / pastry. It seems weird if it is a pet bunny since it is on a plate.

lol. I live in south Florida which is considered semi-tropical. My experience with snow is minimal to say the least. Thank you

its still food
dont you know
in michigan we ate snow for breakfast lunch and dinner
thats how we become STRONG.

You can buy a marshmallow candy of it with the same name, Yukiusagi (雪うさぎ). Translation, Snow Rabbit/Bunny.

I don't know much about the origin of the Snow Bunny, but I think it originates from Chinese culture? But pretty much its a ball of snow with two leafs for ears and two small nuts for eyes. Like a snowman, its made for the fun of it and even brought inside or placed on a plate. Reindeer pretty much explained enough.

I had wondered if sugar syrup was poured on it to make it sweet like a sno-cone

lmao. yolk for a bunny? Do they make chicks too then?
ROFL, yeah I know. I think easter everytime I see them, like them Cadbury Creme Eggs (If you know what I mean, if not google it).

I think so, let me check.
EDIT: Nope, I was thinking another candy, Peeps lol.

There is a sweet called Hiyoko Manjū, Chick Bun (ひよ子饅頭) though: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ひよ子
But its not the same. ^^;
