Smash Bros. 3DS, one game that I will always love even though it just came out. For us competitive players we love them tactics, while most players usually play in "For Fun" matches. "For Fun" matche although helpful when training, never really have the feel of a real smash battle. So if you have a bit trouble facing off against "For Glory" players, maybe I could help.
(Also feel free to add your strategys!)

New Mechanics and such

Some Helpful Strategys I made:
Sonic
To rank up combos with sonic, try using is dash attack and then rushing toward the opponent with a grab. Note eitheir the down grab or the up grab work the best. Also try using his speed to grab faster, side stepping is also and option.

Meta Knight
This guy was amazing in brawl, yet he falls short from his last gen moves. That still doesn't mean he can't fight back. Try using his side special to gain quick damage, note that you can tilt it up so you won't fall. Meta Knights down grab could also be used with his dash attack like Sonic. Dash attack and grab/up special the opponent, this strategy could be used to rack up MAJOR damage.

Fox
Fox is great for block projectiles due to his down special, making him prime for facing against characters like Robin. The best strategy for him is using his UP special to launch your opponents up in the air. When you hit the ground try grabbing the opponent to hit the player hard. Although this won't rank up damage fast it still works for annoying your opponents.

Greninja
The latest pokemon to enter the field. Basically use his hard hits and fast movement to try and get as much damage as possible. I suggest dash and side smash as a start, then try and hit them with a down attack and a up attack, this can knock the player back quite a bit. Also its crucial to use Greninjas best moves, shadow sneak and hydro pump for recovery. Shadow sneak can hit pretty hard and should be used for decent side recovery, while hydro pump should be used for when you want to fling yourself across the stage.

Captain Falcon
This guy, this guy. Is strong, he can rack up INSANE damage. Try using his side special paired with an up special. Wait for the knock back from the side special and hit the opponent with his Up special. This will make some major knockback and damage. Also after that try using his smash attacks to K.O. opponents quickly. Meteor smashing will work effectivly with him.

Actual Tactics
-Dash and smash (dash to the opponent and use a uncharged side smash to hit hard/K.O.
-Jump dodging (to approach opponents, light jump and shield at the same time. This is effective to get close to your opponent)
-Charge Move tactic (characters with charge moves should try and charge early on or when an opponent is launched. This cN help you K.O. easily)

Marth(a Stewart)

Marth and Lucina are basically the same, until you get into the seriously deep competitive aspects, so for the purposes of this post I'm going to ignore those aspects until they can be fully fleshed out.

Basic approach:
Dashing -> short hop -> fair
This will put you in the air to avoid about %60 of the attacks an opponent can throw at you. More importantly, if you're playing as Marth it gives you a tipper, for extra damage. It also puts you in an advantageous position if the opponent's knockback is negligible. You can easily follow up this attack by a number of ways:
FF->ftilt->repeat above technique
Jump->dair (the Ken combo)
or simply drop the ground and throw out a small neub. Your choice. If you can tip the neub, especially as Marth, you can potentially go for a KO.

Kirby-Destroyer of worlds
Ok Kirby is hilarious to use in Smash. Yet he is pretty much to funniest character to use, he can turn into stone, swing a sword, and K.O. hard in seconds with his side smash.

For instance use...
-Down A+Up B
-Down B+ F Grab
-and then try Dash A, Side B

This will always K.O. if used right

Kirby the Destroyer

I've always mained Kirby, but he's become a little 'too' powerful this time xD

- 'Down + B' (stone form) has basically become the move of reckoning. If you do it from above, you can very easily smash somebody off the screen from anywhere above 75% (depending on the character). It's also fantastic for smashing multiple people at the same time if they're fighting between themselves below you. It doesn't have any 'charge time' which often doesn't leave enough time for enemies to react to it, as well as making you invulnerable to most attacks. Caution when using though as if you do it above a gap you may very well suicide, as well as sloped flooring causing you to slide off, which can actually sometimes be used to surprise somebody if they think you missed and landed above...only to slide of and smash them.
(If you're looking for quick 'multiman smash' points, spam this move. You'll have more KO's than you know what to do with)

- 'Forwards + B' is extremely powerful and a fully charged hit can smash an opponent straight off the screen with very low percentage. It's very hard to get a fully charged hit on somebody due to it slowing your movement speed and jumping, being highly obvious and avoidable, being slow to change which way you're facing and the periodic damage you take whilst holding it fully charged. You can still however get a fully charged hit if others are fighting among each other and are ignoring you, letting you surprise the.
I've found the best time to use it is when you've thrown somebody off the stage. You can position yourself near the ledge with the fully charged attack and if they grab the ledge, they're probably going to roll onto the stage and straight into your hammer.

I could go into greater detail about Kirby, but those two attacks are seriously OP in Smash 4. I tend to try and use the sparingly though as I feel cheap if I abuse them -.-
