Smash Bros Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U Discussion Thread

So, anyway, has anyone gotten really good with a certain character? I've gotten to the point where I can KO at least 4 level 9 opponents on random with Mario. Almost got to 5, but the timer ran out.

That websites a bit quick to jump to conclusions. O.o;
Clearly they are counting the Wii version as the 5th, and they want to get a new team together to start producing the 6th next year. ~ and if they're just starting development and programming soon I highly doubt the game will release next year seeing as the current smash bros has been in production the past 4ish years, before the release of either handheld it's played on.

But it's cool that we know there will be another game, and that 3D and motion control is aimed to be a part of it. ~ Might seem a silly thing to point out but when you consider SSB seems to be a once a generation game and that Nintendo wants to make it's next console a merge of home and handheld console this could confirm it'll be 3D again ~ which if it's par home console might mean they're banking on 3D tvs being around for future gaming. =D

Yes or it has been a typo or something like that. But if it's true I think it'll be only playable on a New3ds (and not 3DS) and a ?NewWii U? since normally no SSB game has been released twice on the same console like you've already mentioned...
But it could also end up to be an add-on or an improved version of the game with new fighters and new stages.

Villager probably. My record is killing two Level 9s without losing a life but that's it.

No, not yet.
Also kinda unrelated:
I really want to play as the Wii Fit Trainer, so bad. x-x'
So I'll be trying my best to "main her" as often as I can even if I suck.

I've gotten pretty good at Mega Man.

Out of the demo, who do you guys think is the most "technical" character?
Define technical however you wish, but I basically mean characters more obtuse or odd move sets that need a bit of practice to master.

Agreed and I feel Namco was a good choice to help develop the game. Though I've only played the demo so far. x3

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how much input they had with this smash bros, but so far no complaints from me. May we see good things in the next version!

I was under the impression the new 3DS won't have too many exclusive games, and I don't think it counts for a new generation. ~ though IDK how they judge these things really. So I'm holding out for it being on a new, new console. ~ plus like you said in your other post it could hurt sales of this SSB.

An Add-on would be pretty cool, though i'm not sure Nintendo has ever done a proper add-on. ~ all DLC is usually already loosely coded in the game and then unlocked and has the rest of the data patched in so far. But I could see them adding things for future game releases. ~ specifically Splatoon and new IPs that might not want to wait until the next SB.

I have never been able to control Pikachu properly. But Villager is hard to master imo. Especially the down B.

Well this was the first full use of Miis I've seen, and I had a laughing/coughing/death fit at the very end of the video.
AND THE WINNER IS... ME!
Wow, announcer guy, you didn't do **** and claim all the glory at the end.

Yeah, you could be right. The New 3DS doesn't seem to offer that much new games but it'll certainly be important for RPGs and other games that require its CPU power.

I suppose that a reason for them to offer DLC could be that the Wii U hasn't sold that many units and by selling DLCs for a game most Wii U owners will own means more for them.

ok, I may have to let Miis win nearly every time just for victory announcement at the end

I think (well really I hope, cause I don't want to replace my poptart 3DS) that it'll just be like the DSi and only have a few exclusive games and odd e-shop things that require it. Though the CPU increase does kinda bother me, cause they wouldn't do that if they didn't have a reason and I doubt it was because of cheaper production, so there must be something coming.

I guess, though it'd make more sense to aim for more sales, than aim to bankrupt all the people who already own the console. :p But I think that's what they're doing with the 'Connect to Wii U button' on the 3DS SSB version screen, pushing for more Wii U sales. And I would imagine any DLC chars added will be for both versions.

I fully expected it to read the name ~ even in a robot letter at a time fashion over seeing it shouting that.
I think I'm with you there too. So good news everyone play as Mii fighters against me for a guaranteed win! xD

Yes, I am also bothered with Nintendo's decision to launch a better version of their already good selling handheld... I just hope that if I buy a NN3DS I'll have a good reason for doing so (like a broken 3DS)

I know but another case would be MK8. Millions of people already own it and I assume most of them will buy the DLC packs. You've also to consider that they "lost" even more money through its promotion (one free Wii U game) and that's why they need money to not get bankrupt themself over time..

next Smash to be called Super Kid Icarus Bros.

WHAT A GREAT USE OF A CHARACTER SLOT

Not sure why you're complaining now while in Melee there was Mario, Luigi, and Dr. Mario all almost exactly the same, as well as Roy and Marth almost exactly the same.
