Smash Bros Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U Discussion Thread

That would be great but I don't think Nintendo will sell one of its best games for 20 € at its launch...
And here is a picture of it:

Edit: Too late
Nintendo Italy has announced that Europe will be getting a special version of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS in the form of a "Double-Pack". The package will come with two copies of the game at a discounted price, according to their official Twitter - See more at: http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/smash-bros.-double-pack-coming-to-europe#.VBTU8PldWSo

Discounted, price of one, same thing (not really)

they probably just mean Q4, close to winter

since winter at the end of the year is like what.... a bit over a week?

Normally people/game releases take Winter to mean the entirity of Dec/Jan/Feb. While Q4 is Oct/Nov/Dec. Similarly Autumn/Fall = all of Sept/Oct/Nov, so a Winter 2014 leaves only December. Though it is only a rough placeholder anyway, and the game will release when it's ready.

I've heard that some characters were cut due to the limitations of the 3DS system.

Sakurai said that he was having trouble keeping a steady framerate with the ice Climbers on 3DS version

I can't see how Ice climbers cause issues in an all Ice-climber battle and an all rosalina & Luma or all Olimar/Alph & pikmin battle doesn't cause any issues. Maybe with Ice climbers working how they did in Melee and Brawl both following controls was difficult, but there is no reason they couldnt fix Nana to follow Popo like a Pikmin and Luma proves that 2 chars can follow the same attacks. The only unaddressed issue left is holding 2 items at once, and really they could just remove Nanas ability to hold something if they wanted them in the game.

^Just my 2 cents anyway.

EDIT: Lul, been slowly responding inbetween matches and took so long I've just randomly interrupted an entirely different convo. Surreh!

What if you hate everyone else and want to keep both copies? What would you do with the second one? :p
If you didn't already have plans on what to do with the second copy, why would you want to keep it? Or you know, you could always save it in case something happens to the other copy.

Darn 3DS version ruining everything.

Eh, I see what you are saying, but they are very different models too. I mean luna and the pikmin are smaller character models rather than Nana, which is basically a clone of Popo. Also, this might also be the reason why the pikmin have been reduced to just three. I'm pretty disappointed they are gone too, but from a design perspective can can sorta understand that reasoning.

They're less intricate models yes, but 2 ice climber models is probably less polygons than some of the other characters. But good point on only 3 pikmin ~ I keep forgetting that. So clearly there was an issue keeping 6. :S

How about putting it on the shelf and waiting until the first copy is broken or the game is really rare and then resell it on ebay? (Think about how many people are going to buy it)

*sigh* I thought the TBT forums were better than to make petty arguments about non-important things.
I guess that was kinda naive of me to think so.

I think Nintendo just doesn't want to let us know about it since it would hurt the sales of SSB. :/

That websites a bit quick to jump to conclusions. O.o;
Clearly they are counting the Wii version as the 5th, and they want to get a new team together to start producing the 6th next year. ~ and if they're just starting development and programming soon I highly doubt the game will release next year seeing as the current smash bros has been in production the past 4ish years, before the release of either handheld it's played on.

But it's cool that we know there will be another game, and that 3D and motion control is aimed to be a part of it. ~ Might seem a silly thing to point out but when you consider SSB seems to be a once a generation game and that Nintendo wants to make it's next console a merge of home and handheld console this could confirm it'll be 3D again ~ which if it's par home console might mean they're banking on 3D tvs being around for future gaming. =D

Agreed and I feel Namco was a good choice to help develop the game. Though I've only played the demo so far. x3
