Snake I imagine its mainly rights stuff, since they'd of had to renogotiate that again with Konami/Kojima Productions

Ice Climbers, I can only think of it being due to Rosalina/Luma

Or frozen. I have no idea why. But they were supposed to be in, as they were saying they were trying to add someone like them?? Rosie is kinda different in a way, she doesnt have to fight with a partner all the time.

For me realistic = looking like a real human and not like a character that has been drawn before like the Zelda characters which they certainly were. But in Snake's/Wii Fit Trainer's case for example you can cleary see his human proportions.

I have never said that. It's just that I don't mind that character x isn't in the game since I wouldn't have played him anyway.
 
3DS and Wii U will have the same roster no matter what, That's what I believe has been said.

That may be true but at the same time you should read my messages more carefully and then you'll certainly realize that I've never said that I wanted a character to cease to exist just because I don't like him.

I could replace Snake with a clone character and probably no one would have complained about it. Maybe you are just a Snake fanboy/girl and that's why you reacted that way...

I'm just assuming this why we don't have any "swap" characters this time around as well.

The roster was decided in 2012 and it was finished early
Lucina was confirmed to be an alt
They decided to make the roster a little bigger by adding a few clones

I'm pretty sure the developers thought 'we could make Dr Mario an alt to Mario' before the fans did
