Smacked villager for 2 hours with a net; he still wants to stay.

I have been trying to kick out Poncho for the past 2 IRL days, and I've gone through about 5 in-game months but he has not had the thought bubble even ONCE. All my other villagers, even the most recent move in, has had the thought bubble numerous times throughout this process. This is actually driving me insane because I want to adopt Diana from my cousin, so Poncho really needs to go ASAP.

With Ninji's new data mine stating that friendship levels play a part in whether a villager wants to leave, I thought I would smack Poncho with a net for a while. I left my controller on turbo for 2 hours smacking him with the net, but he still doesn't want to leave after I tried the thought bubble transfer process for the 2nd day. Is there a daily cap on how many times he'll lose friendship points from getting hit with a net? Will he ever move out or am i just doomed by RNGesus? Any advice is appreciated. thanks :( sorry for the long text, it's just getting frustrating.

Are you declining your other villagers when they ask to move out? if so, it may be better to just ignore them and you're more likely to get someone else to ping

I don't talk to the villagers at all actually. As soon as I see the thought bubble on a villager I want to keep, I close the game, jump to the next day and repeat

I spent almost a week irl smacking Dom with a net (I TT throughout that week back and forth but nothing) he refused to leave. I made him cry, I made him angry, I laughed at him when he was unwell, I put everything he gave me into the garbage bin outside his house. I hated him.
I honestly don’t think hitting them quickens the process up. I ended up having to just TT until someone visited my camp then closed the game until the camper picked Dom to move out. I genuinely thought Dom would say no at this point 🤣🤣

LOL. i guess i'm just here to vent. i've been smacking him everytime i see him and pushing him around, but he just loves me too much. if i get a good camper then i'll replace poncho with the camper, but no good candidates so far. :(

hmm have you tried the 15 days method too?

Yeah, I have. i've tried every method that i've seen on this forum and on youtube.

awe, no! poncho is so adorable! id understand if it was diva or jambette or someone, but hes cute

Despite what the datamine says, it still seems to be mostly RNG in my honest opinion.
I haven't personally been smacking any villagers because I find it silly but I have had villagers with higher friendship wanting to leave.

Same here, I did everything I could! I SWEAR I remember in Wild World I accidentally smacked a villager afew times trying to get a flea and within 2 days they have moved out lol 😂

oof it took a while for me to work but never that long

you're not checking if the villagers actually want to move out when you see a bubble right?
maybe they just want to give you items or request something else

I thought abusing villagers doesn't actually help?
I tried smacking them and ignoring them, and in my experience, they seem more likely to move out after I've talked to them a few times.

Normal people would consider you smacking a villager with a net for two hours venting, but to each their own :)

I don't get why people love smacking villagers with nets etc 😅 when they first move in they already have low friendship, so as long as you haven't been giving him gifts or anything it probably didn't go up much. I'd suggest talking to him once, then continuing with the thought bubble transfer method. Because sometimes if the villager hasn't seen you for a while (enough that they bring it up when you talk to them) then they won't ping you to move out, or so I've heard.

i literally didn’t speak to Dom, I ran away from him trying to give me things or teach me reactions. In the end smacking him with a net made me feel better 🙃

asdfghjk two hours oh my god 😂 this poor bear

he will ask to move out eventually, you've just got to keep TTing. at this point i wouldn't bother with hitting him anymore, i think it will be faster to just keep TTing and wait for him to ask. i've had villagers with high friendship ask to move out on the first try. it's mostly RNG. you just gotta keep at it, it's hard when you're wanting a specific villager to move out

talking to him might actually help, especially if you've been TTing and haven't spoken to him for more than a week in-game

I tried that, I tried TT a day at a time. In the end the only way he left was to be forced out by a campsite visitor lol.

he really is adorable, but I have 4 jocks already so he's getting the axe since I have his photo now

I've actually moved out villagers with high friendship levels really easily - i've had their photos and everything. I do have poncho's photo, but he's actually being stubborn. I've been ignoring him for the longest time trying to get him to ping but no luckkk. just bad rng i guess :(
