Slow swimming :(

It's slow, but similar to what I remember the swim speed being in New Leaf. I noticed they got rid of the "ding" sound when you catch a sea creature though, which slightly irks me because it's not immediately apparent if I caught the creature or not.

Honestly the swimming seems slower to me than in NL. While swimming and diving was a pain for me in NL I didn't struggle with it, it just felt like a hassle. I'm honestly struggling with the fast creatures. I kid you not, I've currently been trying to hunt down this speedy creature for 20+ minutes and I just can't catch up to it. Even when mashing A, my character doesn't seem to get closer to it, whereas in NL I'd have little to no trouble catching a creature at this speed. :/ To each their own of course, but as someone who didn't struggle with swimming and diving in NL at all, this is pretty frustrating.

Edit: Finally caught it. It took me 30 minutes...

It would be weird if the swimming was ultra fast. This isn't Free Iwatobi swim club! It's acnh. You should take the game slow. Swimming isn't a race here,, Swimming at night is especially relaxing.

I don't know if it's faster than New Leaf's swimming or not. I haven't played that game in a long time. I'm not upset, though. I wasn't really expecting to swim like Michael Phelps.

Swimming had always been slow in New Leaf, it’s almost the exact same pace as it used to be. Humans aren’t very fast swimmers, unless they are trained athletes, so it makes sense that it would be a reasonable pace. I’m not sure why everyone is so... upset about it! Also, a swimsuit is a perfectly normal thing to need to swim. You wouldn’t swim in normal clothes would you? Anyway, I think swimming/diving is a cool feature and I can’t wait to try and donate them all!

and sometimes the slower speed helps to catch sea creatures it's like sneaking up on a bug with a net

Yeah, swimming in wet clothes feels really weird and they just stick and dry weird. They would probably have to make them appear wet which would just add to the difficulty!

Yes, and it's making my wrist hurt too. Can only swim for so long and then I have to take a break.

I don't mind the speed, just gotta hold A, but turning around? LIke making a U turn with an 18 wheeler. Driving a car through a flash flood. Holy hell. Is the ocean made of molasses?

I'm use to it from New Leaf, but I agree it is slow. I wish they would have sped it up for NH!!

It gets really annoying really fast, although I’m still really happy with the update! I do wish maybe they’d add some sort of item (maybe those flipper things people use in the water) that would make you go faster?
