Slightly different kind of thread... What features do you think WON'T ever come in updates?

Title.

We talk a lot about what we hope/think will be coming... What things do you think are NOT coming at any point down the line?

For me, the obvious answer is improvements to online play. Like everything I have in mind for this thread, I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but Nintendo's online implementation has been poor almost without exception, and I just don't see that changing.

I'm also perfectly happy with the dialogue in this game, but I don't see any big dialogue overhaul coming to increase variety. At best, we'll get new dialogue added that connects to new features added. I know I'm probably in the minority here, being satisfied with the dialogue, but I see it as a huge improvement over New Leaf, and that's all I was really hoping for.

What do you think is NOT coming?

i would like them to bring back the secret things you can do. in wild world(?) they had the fountain that you could get, and when you did you could toss your silver ax into it and eventually the fountain fairy would give you the golden ax in return.

in new leaf they had the 'snow family' where you could create a snowman, his wife and then two snow children and when you did that the snowmans eyes would change and you could spin? them and he would give you ski stuff, or other items too if i remember right.

i miss those things, and i havent seen hide nor hair of anything like that in this one

I expect the snow family will return, but I only say that because the snowman we can currently build is called Snowboy and not Snowman. It seems odd that Snowboy would remain the only option. But who knows!

I strongly disagree with this. Though I created this thread, I think updates will add most of the things we're hoping for. But time will tell! I don't think there's a good reason to be so pessimistic though

I'm sorry, I thought you made the topic to get honest replies, on what we think.

I didn't know I'd be challenged on it.

I don't think we'll get perfect fruit so we can once again, have dead trees.
I don't think furniture sets like Rococo and Gorgeous sets will come back.
I don't think house size will increase, to 8 x 8 side rooms, nor do I think house styles like the zen castle, will make a return.

Obviously, I could be wrong, and I'm hoping these things do make a comeback.

Also it isn't pessimism.
It's realism.

I try to be optimistic about this game, after all, I did buy it, and a switch just to play it, so I am always clinging to any shred of hope I can find when it comes to future updates, and what could possibly be added back.

Unpopular opinion? Retail coming back as we saw in nl but doesn’t mean our favorite alpaca couple won’t make appearances .

ps there are few members that look at the game with a more pessimistic view, its just how it is. Don’t let it bother you too much.

Sorry, didn't mean to challenge, but posting nothing good is coming also wasn't really in the spirit of the thread! If it's an honest answer then okay, and sorry you feel that way, but I was definitely more wondering about specific things like you listed here! Thanks for the reply!

Honestly probably the police station, and with what is actually going on atm in the US, I hope it doesn’t doesn’t come back or it’s going to cause a lot of controversy as I can imagine.

If it is, I hope it doesn’t arrive anytime soon because now is awful timing.

Even then, we already have a lost and found in the town hall, but I did hear somewhere (I could definitely be wrong) that some aerobics animations were found so I’m guessing maybe Copper and Booker will come back in some way? Hopefully they’re just tourists or something and not police officers because...you know....

I think Retail isn’t coming back either because we already have Nook’s Crannies. I think the same could probably be said for the post office due to Dodo Airlines buuuuut I *really* hope I’m wrong about this.

I do wonder if we see Reese and Cyrus again after this wedding event! But I do think you're right that we won't get NL's retail!

And thank you. I tend to be very optimistic about the future of the game, so extreme negativity is sometimes a bit surprising!

let's not forget that the points of threads are discussions so there's no need to be defensive!

anyway, i don't really see certain npcs playing a bigger role, like isabelle and wisp. i think wisp will forever be doomed to being unable to clearly see that players aren't ghosts, and isabelle will stay reduced to announcements. they did my girl isabelle so dirty, and i don't think they're going to rectify that.

I don't see a Nookington's type shop coming. I badly want Nintendo to incorporate Sahara, Leif, Kicks, and Label into a single, permanent location, but I don't see it happening.

Oh dear. I love Copper and Booker and really want to see them back, but I never would've made the connection with what's happening now. I could see that being a mess

I have spent a good deal of time wondering what the post office trio could do if they came back. I don't have a great answer besides take over for the postcards but...

If it did, it would have to be included in the current Nook's Cranny footprint. Believe it or not, it's got the exact same dimensions as the museum, and the museum interior is huge

Club LOL is interesting. In the direct they did specifically show DJ KKs amiibo when saying that certain amiibos would be supported later, but I guess DJ KK could show up somewhere other than club LOL!
