Sketches from New Leaf's development!

Hello!

I found some nice sketches that come right from New Leaf's development. I'm sure some of you have already seen them, but since I had never seen them before, I must not be the only one. That's why I wanted to share these with you.


There's not a lot to see but I find it pretty cool to see how much Merengue and Pietro's designs have changed through development.

Both Merengue and Pietro are different from the original sketches. And even though most of them are similar to the end result, I think it's still impressive to see the developers' first ideas for these villagers/furnitures.

I'm glad some of you had never seen them. It's interesting, I'd like to see more.

Fun fact: There were a total of seven character designers on New Leaf: Akiko Hirono, Tomomi Marunami, Mizuki Okunaka, Ayumi Takata, Shoko Fukuchi, Mariko Kawabata and Kazue Miyahara. If I'm right, all seven of them were female.

Good to know. I learned that anyone from the designing team could actually submit ideas and concepts. As an example, someone who was working on designing new furnitures could actually draw characters and give their ideas to the character designers, who would later use their ideas in the game.

It seems like the team behind New Leaf was really open-minded. They must have had so much fun making this game.
