I am curious if there are others who have set up multiple profiles on their Switch for no reason other than to be able to play with different profiles on your island.
My husband and I wanted to play without one of us holding up game progression for the other. So we reset the game and together we used the profile of "Muffin" to set up our island. He then created his profile (Seymour) and I created one for me (Nugget).
In doing so either of us could log in as "Muffin" to advance the story, then log out and log in under our profiles to play the game how we wanted to play it.
A few days later, we decided to make a profile for each of our cats (RB and Ash). We each also played as our cats and collect extra DYIs and balloons and money trees and dropped them at our character s door for later pickup.
Then our grandson (Case) wanted to play so we added him but he lost interest a week later.
From Jan to early Mar we basically had 6 profiles going. My husband invested heavily in turnips, hit the jackpot and lost interest when he had accumulated millions of bells. (Still has 25,000,000+)
So now it's just me playing with 6 profiles!!
Each of them draw me into the story in a different way. I can't help but want to buy clothes and design their homes around their different personalities.
Muffin is the representative and dresses professional for the most part. She doesn't have much of a role now that all the services are up and running. But she is the one with an online Nintendo membership and email account so she's the only one who can visit other islands.
Seymour gives away bells and makes items as needed. His donations have fueled the museum to near capacity.
Nugget is an organizer and gardener at heart. She keeps the island at 5 stars and designs rooms. She's buying artwork now to complete the museum. I want to get her a Nintendo account so she can travel and receive visitors.
RB is lazy. He spends his time in bug or fishing contests or borrowing bells from Seymour if he wants to buy stuff (including his house rooms and storage). He has a music room of dancing gyroids, sports stuff and toys.
Ash is into fashion, fishing, bug hunting and ordering commissions. She is adorable!!! She has an entire Mermaid suite upstairs courtesy of Seymour.
Case is into marine life and cosplay which fills his basement. His daily costume change is notable, even garnering comments from some villagers about them.
I sometimes feel drained playing all 6 profiles but I can't seem to stop. They have each taken on distinct personalities. I switch between them depending on my mood. Some days I concentrate on one or two of them. Other days I squeeze in all six.
I would love to hear from others who play under multiple profiles. What's it like for you?
