Alright, I thought I'd write a guide about adding an Avatar and Signature to your profile/posts, to minimize confusion. It's organized into 2 separate sections for easy findage of what you need to know.

Avatars:
An Avatar (a.k.a. 'Avy') is just a small picture that represents you on the forum. It will show up just under your name, and it can really be anything... within reason.
Anyhow, to add an Avatar, first click on the My Controls ][*] Choose an Avatar from the gallery, consisting of several sections.
[*] Enter the URL to a picture on another site to use as your Avatar. To get the URL, right-click on the image you want to use, select properties, and copy & paste the address into the box. Note: The site must allow hotlinking to do this.
[*] Upload a picture from your computer into the Avatar gallery.
[/list]Once you've used 1 of these methods, your Avatar should show up under your name in your posts and your profile.

Signatures:
A Signature (a.k.a. 'Siggy' or 'Sig') is what shows up under your post. You can change it in the same way you change your Avatar; go into your Control Panel, but this time click the Edit Signature link under the "Personal Profile" section. You can add text, pictures, and smilies here.
To add a picture, you need to first upload it to an image host that allows hotlinking. Some good sites for uploading images are:
-ImageShack
-PhotoBucket
Anyhow, just upload your picture to the site, and you should be given the address to it. Copy & paste this into the Edit Your Signature box, along with a starting and ending URL tag, like this:
</big>Code:[URL]http://www.imageshack.us/yourpic.gif[/URL]
And of course, replace the above URL with the address to your picture. ImageShack automantically gives you the address to your picture with the tags, so it's ready to go.
