Signature question?

My signature picture seems to stay the same size. I uploaded a pic the size of 400, and it looked too small. So i went to resize it to 500 which is the maximum size, uploaded it, but it stayed the same size. Are larger signatures something you have to buy in the shop or something? (i looked in the shop and it doesn't look like there's an addon for that.)
Anyways, hope some of you understand my dilemma and can help me out, sorry i'm bad at explaining things.

In my experience when you do the "attach" upload option it makes my picture really small. I solved this by uploading the picture to a third party and just using the IMG tags that way it comes out normally.
