Hi all. Lately I have been feeling sick for no reason whatsoever. I go out and whenever I go to have lunch or eat something, I get this nausea and sick feeling and then whenever I think about or look at or smell food it just makes me feel worse.

I think it may be down to anxiety, does anyone else have this problem or heard of this problem?

Thanks.

Not heard of this nor do I know what it is but get better soon D:

EDIT:/ Maybe it'd be a good idea to go to the doctors and get checked out.

i have that, too. for some reason, i don't want to gorge down lots of chips now. and drinking milk makes me feel even worse. and i feel like barfing for no reason. weird.

I've had that before and it was anxiety too. I was nervous about something and got nausea too. Does your heart start racing as well?

It does sound an awful lot like anxiety or even possibly stress. Anxiety can be caused from genetics, an environmental issue or brain chemistry Try to take it easy, give yourself a worry free day,and also try deep breathing to calm yourself down, you may not think you are hyped up, but your brain thinks otherwise.

The doctor can also give you medication to help treat anxiety, so maybe use that as an option too, if you're worried about side effects the most common side effect from the medications is just sleepiness.

Other things you can try is to limit your intake of caffeine (tea, pop, coffee etc), exercise, and a healthy diet, Hope I helped and hope you get to feeling better!! I don't like my Nigel being sick =(

Sometimes anxiety or stress can cause nausea. As for why it happens around food, well, I don't know.

I used to get that alot, but mine was caused through fear of being sick, I could never eat anything mixed together, i was consently cleaning forks/knifes in case I got some sort of illness from them
XD. that was like 3 years ago

I have the same problem... Just cause of surgery. :X

But anyways, I'd also try (like Miranda said) staying away from Caffeine for a while, it can make you pretty jumpy and anxious. And for you feeling sick around food, it means your stomach is probably tied in knots. Just try and relax and find something to ease your stress or anxiety.

Maybe as it's just because he feels sick, he doesn't want to eat something that's maybe going to push it more, and cause him to be sick.
Worrying about it really.

Hope you feel better soon though Nigel

take it easy, lay down and take deep breath, that will calm you down

and just eat small meals at a time, like instead of a whole sandwich, eat half and eat the other half later

I hope you get better :) ,
oh and try drinking caffine-free tea, like camomille or mint, those clean up ur stomach and relax you
