So... everyone left and right is restarting their towns because they don't like their layout. And regrettably, I'm feeling the same way.

I'm so attached to my town though. There's flowers everywhere, it's beautiful, it's paved, it has several PWPs, etc. I worked so hard on this town. I also restarted 122 times just to get Punchy on the launch date and sacrificed the first day's enjoyment entirely just for getting him. I was unaware of trading villagers then, of course.

The thing is though... there's literally no room for new projects. There's no room to plant trees or bushes along my pathways. Everything is orderly and straight at the top, which normally, I think would be perfect but it's literally driving me insane. I have spent way too much time and energy trying to get my dream villagers, so I don't think I could reset, so this is what I was thinking... should I get a second copy?

I currently have a digital copy and would love to have a physical one, but it's not like I'm a kid anymore. I'm not entirely sure if I would have time to keep up two towns. I'm scared that I would abandon one of them and it would be a waste of money. It's either I somehow get a person to hold onto my favourite villagers and reset then have them move back in (I don't know anyone trustworthy enough to do that) or get a second copy. I don't know... what do you all think?

Edit: If you could visit my dream town and tell me if I should keep it or lose it, that would be appreciated too. Here's a picture of my map:

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather buy a second copy than reset my data and all those hours of work.

I am feeling the same I've only had my game for 5 days though so I haven't done too much, I just really do not like my lay out. Because I think everybody was so excited to play they just willy nilly select a random map. Then end up hating it.

If you have the money, then go for a second copy.
Also, your main town looks really pretty!

I love your path!

I think you have a lovely town. But if it's going to eat at you, then definitely reset or get a second copy. You can't play the game right if you're not happy with everything.

Like many people here I went with the first town layout because I didn't know any better. I'm too attached to my villagers, so I'm going to wait for another copy until I have some money to waste (unlikely) or the price goes down. Probably won't be for a while, though.

You shouldn't reset, your town looks really good. But if it really bothers you that much you should get a second copy, try to catch up in progress with the town you have now and once it's all caught up and how you want it, you should try and get your dream villagers to move from the digital to the physical copy.

The only thing that seems to be a problem is that your paths might be too wide? maybe try switching the paths and changing the order of the plants and trees.

Honestly it looks like you've put so much effort into your town already..and it really shows! It looks gorgeous from the pictures :D

I agree with everyone else...if you have some extra cash to burn I'd say pick up another copy. I'm think of doing this sometime too.

There's certain things I wish I could improve, like neighbor placement or rock placement or I wish I only had 1 pond instead of 2. But those things aren't worth losing hundreds upon hundreds of hours of work in this game. I'm not even talking about the actual gaming hours. I've been building friendships with people here and they have kindly helped me get some of the more rare items in the game. Don't want to lose those either. Those items were varying amounts of effort for those people to get for me too.

Also had a guy spend over an hour straight visiting me to help me get up my visits for the train station renovation. This was something he kindly offered. I didn't ask for that specifically. If I reset, I lose his work. I can't do that.

(And, no, still don't have the train station thing yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm at almost 50 visits now between him and other people the past several days, when a week ago I was less than 15.)

I think that would be kind of a fun idea :) I don't fully understand not being happy with a town though I do know how irritating it is to want to start something over but having so much energy and time spent in it. Your digital copy shouldn't keep you from making a new town, at least I'm almost positive. This is a sort of "Why not?" situation. I wouldn't want to totally erase your first town though. It sounds like it's super amazing! I would love to see it! :D

Personally i knew i wouldnt be able to keep up with two towns, so thats why i reset, instead of just getting another copy, but if you feel you can, just get another :)

I feel the same way. I'm just going to buy a second copy (most likely on ebay) and my sister can try to keep it up and it'll stop her complaining about wanting her own... I'm not resetting all those hours of hard work.
