I have been thinking of getting a second copy of ACNH because my current island is too far along for me to reset. I would like an island for a more natural/witchy aesthetic compared to the girly on I have right now. I have thought many a time of resetting but, I don’t think I could since I want two different vibes. Give me your reasoning or encouragement. qwq

You would need a second Switch, not a second copy of the game. I feel you, though! If I could make a second island with a second copy of the game, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Yeah. Save files are tied to the system, and not on the copy of the game itself. So if you really want to create a different island, you have to reset and say goodbye to all your hardwork.

If you end up going the reset route, a possible solution to "keeping" your current island could be to:

- take a lot of screenshots of your current island (to remind you of the layout, terraforming, placement of items etc)

And

- have someone you trust (and who hopefully shares most of your catalog) catalog your items into their catalog (so you can buy the items from them)

This will allow you to re-do your current layout if you want to - albeit with some extra time and bells, of course.
